Draught. Dark opaque reddish beer with minimal head. Light cherry aroma. Flavor is cherry, oak, and well-rounded sweetnesses. Sharp and creamy mouthfeel with a smooth finish and a biting aftertaste hinting at the abv.

(New Year’s Eve tasting Flight (2 of 4) Pours a much larger head. Might have been warmer than the 6 which I had 90 minutes ago. While the head does collapse almost as quickly as the 6, it provides a LOT more lace than its lighter cousin. Lots of sediment in this one. Still an orangy color, however, a little towards the brown end of the spectrum. Can smell the brown malts coming out in the aroma. Body is heavier. Flavor of belgian candy sugars coming out. Must more complex body and flavor compared to the 6. More pronounced warming on palate and throat after a minute. The warmer it gets the heavier the body gets.

Pours a dark brown color with a huge frothy beige head. Aroma of dark fruit, alcohol and chocolate. Very tasty beer with lots of malty chocolate, raisin, prune, plum, spice and alcohol.

Dark brown color, tame little tan head for a belgium. Rich caramel aroma with heavy malt, no real hops but a prune fruit smell. Cherry flavor comes out in the beginning but then it gets complex - an array of fruit and a bit of malt. It all comes together to hide the alcohol content, thus no heat in the throat. Palate is perfect for a belgium, a great mix of heaviness and not too bubbly to take away from the flavor. Overall a great belgium thats different from some of the others.

Nice, but nothing special when placed next to other St. Bernardus selections. Nice aroma with pine, caramel malts and apples. Appearence is a muddy brown with smallish off-white head. Lacing as always excellent from St. Bernardus. Flavor is sweet throughout with a nutty, yeasty finish.

11.2 oz bottle Label is orange with a monk holding a beer goblet that says Prior 8 I poured this slow and harsh. I have found out that the more gases released in the pour the more flavors are released. Pours a nice head that falls into a thin bubbly head with a very strong lacing. Smell is strong of flowery hops and sweet aromas Taste is not strong, but light and aromatic. Strong pepper taste are very apparent Mouthfeel is ok, nothing great. I am glad to have this, but will wait for a great conditioned one next time

From the bottle into a SB glass, the aroma was very yeasty as if it was bread dough on the rise. The color was hazy dark reddish-brown with a slightly tan head. On tasting there is a big rush of brown sugar & molasses mixed with a raisin. This beer starts out sweet malty with lots of yeast but that sweetness fades quickly and subsequent taste are not as sweet. There is a slight alcohol warming at the end of the taste. Overall this is a great beer, smooth and easy to drink.

Bottle. ark brown hazy appearance with yeasty aroma. Malty flavor with a strong bread like characteristic. The alcohol is very noticeable. Very nice.
