Finally entering all my "Better Know a Style: Belgian Strong Ale" tasting 07 results. Very yeasty, dark fruit aroma with some nuttiness as well. Looked very nice as well with a dark brown color and large off-white head. Flavor was moderate malt sweet with some spice and dark fruit, also some biscuit in there as well. A nice med body with some carb.

33cl 8% bought in Belgium. Heavy, very dark, opaque beer, dark-brown when held to the light. Bubbly with a creamy head. A bitter yeasty, woody smell with hints of lemon and an alcoholic background. Bitter-sweet taste, with the sweet dominating, with a burnt hop, caramel, chocolate palate. Well balanced, quietly fizzy with a nice warm, round aftertaste. Good quality in the Rochefort tradition. A little bit too alcoholic on the smell.

Cloudy mahogany with a small off-white head. Malt, dark fruits, vanilla, and musty spice in the aroma. Heavy malt backbone with spun sugar, corriander, raisins, and a sherry-like alcohol flavor. Dense, sticky mouthfeel. A little too thick and sweet for me.

Pours an amber/brown, with a thick sweet palate and a tatse, that while not as complex and favoursome as the 12, still has enough rich dark fruits and sweet malts to be a very good example of the style.

Flaske. Superlæækker, og til min glæde faldt den også i svogerens smag. Han svor der straks skulle placeres et par i køleskabet. Han er kok og har altid svoret til vin.

Visible sediment abounds when this beer is poured. A strong aroma rises quickly. Very flavorful, with constant changes. A predominately sweet maltiness throughout and a long-lasting finish.

Brownish red in color, medium head. Lacing is sticky and long lasting. Taste is moslty caramel like most of these styles. Maybe a slight hint of cherry thrown in. Nice beer overall.

light cola color with very small head, strong lemon aroma with some caramel and dark fruit notes. medium viscous, cloying body. bittersweet lemon peel, toffee, raisin wine and a light cocoa spiciness, real light alcohol undertone.
