Dan, my puppy really digs this beer. Poured a thimbles worth in a glass and she attacked the glass with a vengeance. She then went after the bottle trying to lick inside the neck. Took some pics and I may change my profile pic to one of the photos. Poured a dark, dark brown that seemed to have a purple tinger to it. Poured into my delerioum tremens glass and had to space out the pour because a big, frothy head that was stained a slight khaki. Nose was aromatically malty and sweet. Flavor was a superb dubel. Lots of rich malts. Belgian sugars provided a nice solid base to this beer. Dark fruits such as prunes and dark cherries. Bits of dark grabes and dried raisins too. Could not pick out any heat from the alcohol at all but it sure hit m pretty good. Vinuous and heavy mouthfel that did a great job just coating the cheeks.

Draft. Moderate notes of caramel and milk chocolate with a light perfume and dough smell and dates and raisin in the background. Virtually no head (but I’ll bet the bottled version has a decent head) with a clear dark brown color. taste starts moderately sweet and lightly acidic and finishes lightly acidic. Medium bodied, between watery and oily, and a soft carbonation. This beer is fruitier than the Abt 12 but less chocolatey. Definitely a good one though.

Bottle. Has a dark golden brown color with great ruby hues and topped with a medium offwhite head. Aroma was definitely highly fruity most noticeable are plums, grapes and green apples mixed with low honey hints. Flavor is mild and not overpowering. Actually quite amazing in its evolved blending of fruits and this smooth honey taste and feeling coats the tongue. Loved every drop

Rated 7/8/07. Pours a cloudy, dark mahogany with a large, frothy off-white head. Lacing was thick and coated the entire glass. Aroma was that of sweet roasted malts, molasses, dark fruits, white grapes, and some spice. I picked up the same components in the flavor, and they progressed well from the front of the mouth to the back. Very complex. A little on the sweet side for me, but not too bad. Smooth finish, with a dark fruit aftertaste. Very nice beer. Really opens up as it warms in the glass.

Pours a dark brown with hints of red, with a small white head. Smells of dark fruits, berries, and dark malts. Some caramel too. The taste is much of the same. Pretty fruity, with alot of berry flavor to it. Very sweet too, get some rasisns and dark malts in th finish. Leaves a sweet residue on the lips and the palate. Good beer.

Pours a deep brown with another nice, fluffy head with lacing. Aroma is highly spicy and fruity, and I think I noticed a little citrus thrown in. The flavor is heavily malty and smooth, another great beer from St. Bernardus
