4.7 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
It is superfluous for me to add anything to the litany of praise for this beer, but superfluous I must be. 750ml cork-finished bottle six months past date (no problem for a beer of this giant caliber, I’ve been cellaring it just to see how great these become with time’s inscrutable passage). As wonderful as all the yuletide beer releases are, there’s really no reason to look further than Prior 8, if you want to taste Noel in a bottle. A nose packed with stewed fragrances ranging from fruity through spicy and bready to things like the pleasant body odor one might find on a love interest. The taste reflects, with great balance, depth, and persistence, the nose. What I’d most like to convey is the drunk-vs-drinkability factor which is off the charts. Pop a 750ml, drink it in 45 minutes, and crash around your chosen scene in a state of warm jolliness.

33cl bottle. Widely available. Average Belgium beer from the lot. 02/18 batch was overly carbonated. A bit of a disappointment.

4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
When you open the bottle I noticed at once a pleasant perfume. Following this sense the aroma is absolutely delicious with roasted malt in the right measure, floral, herbal smell and an accurate touch of caramel.
It has a dark brown color and slight turbidity.
The cream is bulky and beige with medium duration.
The high carbonation is noticeable from the start and roasted malt notes has a beautiful balance as well. The caramel malt, wood, cocoa, licorice and nuts. Has a strong tone and rustic, yet does not appear heavy.
He brought me a medium flavor tempered pulling the same and so salty, I could see a slight memory of a brandy because it is volatile and appears just in taste. Alcohol is noticed in the heat that transmits the throat.
Long end she is malted reducing cabornatado taste and formatting a very soft palate between good bitterness and light caramel.
Medium complexity high is strong and powerful and full-bodied beer just right.
Being slightly dry and medium bitterness and prepares the way for the next sip.
Due to certain salient features not shown exceptionally balanced, but has a gorgeous footprint.
I liked its drinkability.

Bottle from a mix pack. Pours a true copper, quite active, lots of carb, fluffy creame coloured head, loads of thick lacing. Nose is sweet malt, touch of roast, a little spicy. Tastes spicy, sweet malt again, a little heat. Quite smooth.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Shared 11.2 oz. bottle poured to snifters, showing a murky, brown tone, with a modest layer of tan head foam, and spotty lacing. The nose was malty sweetness, ripened & dried fruit, and a hint of banana. Medium bodied, with soft carbonation, the flavor’s sweetness was more as brown sugar, esters included some ripe apple, and the alcohol’s disposition was pleasantly warming. Maybe a little age on this bottle, but still tasty.

11.2 oz bottle poured into chalice. Aroma of malts and some fruit with a slight almost smokiness. Pours a rich dark brown with a rapidly dissipating light beige head. Very great mouthfeel with a perfect amount of carbonation to it. Flavors of malt and yeast throughout. Exceptional beer.

330cc bottle. One of my favourites from one of my favourite stiles. I always have them home. It just feels that everything in it is where it should be.
