4.7 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
It is superfluous for me to add anything to the litany of praise for this beer, but superfluous I must be. 750ml cork-finished bottle six months past date (no problem for a beer of this giant caliber, I’ve been cellaring it just to see how great these become with time’s inscrutable passage). As wonderful as all the yuletide beer releases are, there’s really no reason to look further than Prior 8, if you want to taste Noel in a bottle. A nose packed with stewed fragrances ranging from fruity through spicy and bready to things like the pleasant body odor one might find on a love interest. The taste reflects, with great balance, depth, and persistence, the nose. What I’d most like to convey is the drunk-vs-drinkability factor which is off the charts. Pop a 750ml, drink it in 45 minutes, and crash around your chosen scene in a state of warm jolliness.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
For me this beer was like their Tripel but maltier and with less alcohol. It has a medium low body, spicy, orange, coriander, etc. I thought this was an excellent beer, but it is just ok, will drink it again, maybe I had a bad batch?

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours medium brown with a small white head that stuck around and left great lacing. Aroma is earthy, yeast, dark fruit and spice. Taste is sweet with some tartness. Medium bodied, smooth and not quite creamy.

It is a strong beer and it tastes like it. But that said it does taste smooth and full of flavour

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Dark brown. Cloudy. Yeast bits at bottom. Tastes like a malty Duvel. High carb - slowly gushed from bottle. Dark fruit / pruney. Tasted better as it warmed up. Aroma was amazing when warmer too (obviously...).

4.5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Aroma frutado, notas de caramelo e cravo. Sabor levemente adocicado com toques amargos e algo de banana. Aparência caramelo escuro, sem nenhum resquício no paladar além da beleza dessa garrafa. No geral, sem palavras.

From a bottle. Medium to dark brown with a good beige head. Both aroma and taste combine spices, caramel and bananas.

Vrij warm in het paultje, veel en lang schuim, volle, lekkere smaak. Droppig, niet scherp maar zacht.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Beautiful pour into the glass with a nice color. Brown sugar, date and figs on the nose. Nice head w/excellent lacing on the glass. The lighter mouthfeel contradicts the heavier aromas but in a very pleasant way. Nice finish and an excellent beer.
