330ml brown bottle. Red brown colour, 1 inch of creamy, rocky tan head. Malt, brown sugar and nuts in aroma. Big malt flavour and malt sweetness, subtle caramel and light alcohol. Some yeast and alcohol carry over into the finish, giving it a bit of a pleasant bite, and some dryness. Soft palate, medium carbonation, some stickiness and weight to the body. A nice rich, slow sipping experience overall, even though the bottle foamed like crazy upon opening!

8/23/2006 11:37:12 AM 330ml bottle at home. Outstanding! I love strong Belgian ales and this one is very smooth indeed. Nice head, tasted fruits. Strong but not overpowering. Just right.

Bottle in the Magnolia Beer Cafe in Keswick. Ruby with an off white head. Mild yeasty toffee aroma. The taste is spicy with toffee, raisin and port. High carbonation. Very good.

Hazy brown. Medium body, mild flavor, watery middle, good carbonation but low heat for the ABV. Sweetish, bitter. Malty, barley drops. Not as tasty as I expected. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Large frothy off-white diminishing head. Murky brown body. Light caramel/toffee malt aroma with light creamy touch. Metallic nose very present even after 5 min opened. Medium thin body with almost flat carbonation and a very metallic finish. Average taste duration slightly sweet, a bit acidic with low bitterness. Salty feeling and metallic flavor. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Frothmeister (633) - Ontario, CANADA - AUG 9, 2015
330ml bottle. Pours a murky chestnut brown (almost looks like commercial iced tea) with a frothy, three finger light tan head. On the nose, mineral notes, dark sugars, musty wet basement, dates, dark rye bread notes and a light earthy aroma. Taste wise, apparent alcohol, dark bread, raisin, light molasses, mineral notes that leads into brown sugar, dried fruit, ruby port, fruit cake, and light Concorde grape and earthy notes in the finish. 100% solid.

Dark brown-ish ale. Very smooth, rich dark flavors of fruit and malt. Surprisingly mild for 8%.

Really great malts, brown malts hazy brown appearance, flavor of dried raisins and other dark fruits. Flavor of rich malts and biscuit grains and light yeasty banana character. Great stuff.

Hazy brown, huge off-white head, thick laces after it falls. Aroma of dry fruit, white wine, roast acidity, minimal alcohol. Medium to full body. Oily. Sweet taste of dry fruit (prune, raisins) with light bitterness along. Some alcohol present. The same pictute in finish. Excellent balance. Very warming. Very good.
