Pours a dark brown colour with an off-white head that stays in the glass for a long time. Aroma of malts, caramel and oak. Flavour also brings some candy sugar. Soft to medium carbonation. An avarage + dubbel in my opinion.

Pours a rich and hazy copper amber colour initially with big billowing tan head which quickly settles. Aroma is figs, brown sugar, bready yeast and caramel malt. Taste is initially quite sweet then medium bitter and lightly sour. Rich yet light mouth feel with medium noticeable carbonation, full bodied. This is a really nice Dubbel and perfect for those times when that is what you want!

12oz from mixed Bernardus 6p. Pours a mud like brown with a fizzy white head that quickly dissipates. Smells of slightly sour figs with alcohol showing. Body is actually quite light and heavy carbonated. Light easy drinking, taste of light fruits and the alcohol helps accentuate the tastes. Classic style, not my preference but good.

16/05/2015 25cl from tap @Zwembad de Treffer, Waregem. Hazy brown with nice beige head. Light roasted malts, spices, caramel, bitter hops. Nice soft oily mouthfeel

Nice abbey dubbel. Medium body with usual fig and candied sugar flavor. Becomes richer and the malt flavor comes out more if you let it warm. Worth a try. On tap at VI. Belgian beer fest Budapest.

Derbeth (447) - Kraków, POLAND - MAY 14, 2015
Bottle with expiry date 16.09.18, bought in January. Frothy, quickly disappearing head, dark brown colour. Aroma is complex, with raisin, dark bread, brown sugar, and even a bit of hops in the finish. Alcohol noticeable, but does not disturb much. Smooth, very drinkable. Very good.

Bottle from Congress, Longton. Pours deep brown with off white stiff froth. Dark berry, malt, well carbonated. Decent.

Kauge (593) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - MAY 7, 2015
33 cl bottle from Špunka in Tallinn (€ 2.92). Murky reddish brown. Head light beige, retains nicely, leaving little lacing. The usual caramel, dark fruits, pear, some inspecific spiciness, brown sugar... Fizzy carbonation, above average body... Metallic, grainy and dry on the palate. I’d definitely prefer Westmalle if in the mood of a Dubbel.

Heerlijk fris, donkerbruin, goede schuimkraag. Smaak blijft lang in de mond, moutig. Klassieker.

Bottle. Dark brown, creamy stable head. Malty with dried fruits and bananas in aroma. In taste fruity, malty with candi syrup noticable. Alcohol well hidden. Medium bodied, oily texture, high carbonation. Very good dubbel.

Hamirubi (222) - Waarschoot, BELGIUM - MAY 2, 2015
33cl bottle at home. A medium strong Belgian dubbel, high in carbon, brown sugar sweetness, some vanilla too. Full of character, with some earthy flavours and forest fruits. Not as classic and overwhelming as the quadrupple, but something to have on the beer map, for sure.
