Ungstrup (11075), Frederiksberg, Denmark Aug 12, 2003 The aroma is sweet, fruity with notes of plums - a pretty complex aroma. The color is a deep red and it has a small beige head though fast disappearing. The flavor is sweet and rich in fruit; plums, raisins, and prunes. The alcohol ticles the tongue which combines with the bitterness into a dry end. It has a good palate which in combination with the alcohol makes it rather winous. omhper (10438), Stockholm, Sweden Oct 25, 2003 Bottled. Very dark brown, off white head. Raisiny vinous aroma. Sweet and full bodied. Clean but deep, plummy malt character. Complex flavoursd and a salty finish. Papsoe (9999), Frederiksberg, Denmark May 14, 2005 Updated: Jan 9, 2006(Bottle 33 cl) Medium brown with a decent off-white head. Typical dark brown malty flavour + perhaps a touch of ...licorice? Body is only medium in spite of the strong alcohol making this rather easy to drink. More dry than bitter, although with a pronounced touch of hops. 051093 Oakes (6853), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Dec 3, 2000 Updated: Mar 27, 2008Muddy light brown, just like the style ought to be. Figgy, plummy malt-ester depths to the nose, with a hint of alcohol. Deep dark fruitiness, smooth slightly toffeeish malts and a rich, sticky finish with a splash of alcohol. Well-balaned...quality brew. yespr (6259), Copenhagen O, Denmark Dec 14, 2007 33 cL bottle. Pours dark brown with a reddish huge and huge light brown/off-white head. Fruity an light medicine like aroma. Flavour is smooth malty with hints of chocolate and some spice notes. A smooth yeast flavour shines through. There is a slight banana fruity flavour beneath. Faint and soft liqourice note. Finish is more of the same smooth malt notes and a start of a winous feel. Otherwise extremely well hidden alcohol. Nice but not fantastic.
