| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 28, 2004 Mr. Bernard pours with a robust mahogany body and a thick quilted tan head. The aroma is light, notes of a yeasty biscuit, a touch of coco, and some fruity plums, apricots and dates.
The flavor is dark and toasty. A loaf of Pumpernickel bread, but with suggestions of Rye. More coco, a little orange zest, loads of black pepper, and cantaloupe. I’ve gotta give it to Mr. Bernard on the palate… light, velvety, drapes the glass with it’s quilt of lacing after every sip! Good Stuff!
