Raisiny aroma. Long-lasting head. Tart, bubbly. Creamy finish. A standard Belgian much comparable to the Abt 12.

Red-amber color with a frothy head. I can see small suspended particals in it. Aroma of cloves and malt. Very interesting flavor - sweet, raisony, and malty. Full bodied, and very smooth. I enjoyed it.

a muddy brown swamp sat below a most unusual head of large and ugly bubbles..the aroma was a musty, chocolatey, salty mixture of melted toffee, maybe a burnt raspberry or two, some grapes, a couple lumps of natural sugar, and a couple loafs of bread..flavor was very bready..toasty, slightly nutty, a little acidic..some cocoa..semi-thin body though...salty bitterness coming in the end..

Dark red with a medium head. Aroma: sweet, malty and a bit sour. Taste: Medecine, maybe some chocolate and some port. Like the Pater 6 this comes close to the noble trappists. A very good beer.

Deep amber brown, generous head. Toffee and malt, a hint of spice, really delicate, amazingly soft on the palate, like drinking liquid marshmallow.

Dark brown appearance with a mocha colored head - excellent thick lacing. Sweet, tangy aroma - reminds me of raisins and brown bread. Flavor has the same elements with an ever so delcate lacing of alcohol. Also detect some prune flavor (I like prunes!) Goes down ever so smoothly. One of the smoothest drinking Belgian Strong Ales I have had. The monks are doing it up right at St. Bernardus!

Ruby red-brown color, thick creamy foam. Aroma of malt, chocolat, bit nutty even, ripe fruit. Sweet taste, creamy of chocolat, bit sparkling as well, but still not heavy to drink. Beautiful beer.

Licorice, yeast, Fernet Branca/medicine, herbs, banana, cocoa, raisins, its all there. A great and complex brew with a fine head.
