3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
12 oz bottle from Bev4less. Poured into a beer stein and it foamed up to a 5 finger head. Color is a murky brown with beige head. The aroma is big Belgian yeasts, raisins, dates and figs. The flavor showcases a fair amount of cola with caramel, roasted malts and raisins. The mouthfeel was a smooth and bit on the lighter side. The finish is long with lingering sweet malts. Overall: A very nice beer, a must try.

Somehow I haven’t rated this. Bottle thanks to Dan! Very appropriate for the season. Pours a cloudy brown color with a large mostly white head. The aroma is big sweet yeasty and nutty notes. Excellent flavor: nutty, berries, toffee, burnt caramel, some dry yeast, a robust lively palate. Very full. Light heat. Excellent.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Ruby red-brown colour, thick creamy foam. Aroma of malt, chocolate, a bit nutty even, ripe fruit. Sweet taste, creamy chocolate, bit sparkling as well, but still not heavy to drink. Beautiful beer.

4.7 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
It is superfluous for me to add anything to the litany of praise for this beer, but superfluous I must be. 750ml cork-finished bottle six months past date (no problem for a beer of this giant caliber, I’ve been cellaring it just to see how great these become with time’s inscrutable passage). As wonderful as all the yuletide beer releases are, there’s really no reason to look further than Prior 8, if you want to taste Noel in a bottle. A nose packed with stewed fragrances ranging from fruity through spicy and bready to things like the pleasant body odor one might find on a love interest. The taste reflects, with great balance, depth, and persistence, the nose. What I’d most like to convey is the drunk-vs-drinkability factor which is off the charts. Pop a 750ml, drink it in 45 minutes, and crash around your chosen scene in a state of warm jolliness.

Gushed a bit when opened Light brown/deep copper, clear with a few flakes of sediment floating around, beige head. Aroma of earthy and biscuity malt, some cocoa, ripe fruit, raisins. Dark brown color with a big head. Smells like bread and brown sugar. Taste is fruity, sweet and malty with a very soft bitterness at the end. Not sticky and even a little bit dry. Nice!

Smaak van zoete pruimen, caramel wat langzaam in gebrande noten overgaat met kersenbonbon als nasmaak. Aroma is kruidig zoet, mandarijn en wat chocolade. Goede kraag op donkerbruin. Wat veel koolzuur.
