Pours a hazy brown with a decent sided tan head. Aroma is candi sugars, belgian yeasts, spices, dark fruits, alcohol, molasses and rasins. Flavor is rasins, candi sugar, yeasts, spices and a bit of alcohol. More full bodied than the 6 and more flavorful as well. Decent Dubbel.

Bottle enjoyed at the Hop & Vine... Poured deep, cloudy, maroon with a thick, retaining, tan head. Aroma of cloves, spices, malt, and candy-like yeast. Foamy textered while leaning on the dry side. Malty, earthy, ground pepper-ish, with caramel and toffee sweetness for balance and a smooth alcohol-sweet finish.

large frothy off white head. good lacing. mostly diminishing. cloudy thick medium brown body. aroma: moderate malty, alcohol and raisin (UP). if: light sweet and acidic. ff: light acidic moderate bitter. average duration. palate: full body, creamy texture, lively carbonation moderate alcoholic finish. sem dulçor, toques ácidos bem próximos do azedume, diferente de outras Dubbel. vencimento 09/14. toques frutas secas e malte no paladar. na 2a taça surgiu pequeno dulçor, mas continuou ácida. toques de álcool no paladar. 46s. it is worth less than half of the price.

It smells sweet, malty, and boozy. This Belgian brew is dark ruby amber in appearance. It is strong in alcohol and malts for an ABV of 8%, but still delicious and rich in flavor.

Poured into the St. B. Chalice from an 11.20z bottle. Medium dark brown with huge off white head. Nose was malty, bready; Taste was smooth with a sweetness of dried fruits. Medium bodied, well balanced, a bit bitter, but dry.

tasty beer. yeast is the dominant flavor... but it’s also sweet. the ester flavor is minimal compared to most Belgians. one of the darker and better tasting dubbels I have tried.

Sharp, bready flavor with alcohol bite. Slightly earthy, sour after-taste. Fuzzy on the tongue. Looks great, has good lace but head retention isn’t very long. Colour is a thick light-brown but slightly red mud.

Dark caramel color with a foamy tan head. Aroma of caramel and spices. Flavor is disappointingly thin. Lightly bitter and sour, quite dry. Not as good as other St. Bernard beers that I have had, but still not bad.
