Purchased at: Canal’s Lawrenceville for $17.00 as a part of a 4 part gift pack complete with glass.
Aroma: faint, flowery, fruity, and wheaty.
Visuals: simple, beautiful packaging, golden, hazy, thin white staying head, crisp lace.
Taste: less balanced, heavy sweet malts, less hops, focus on sweet, fruity, apples, nutty, salty, peach.
Palate: rich fruity wash, terrycloth, spongey, longer muted finish.
Overall: A very nice dry tripel. I’d love to have it again. Quite enjoyable — would pair fantastically with fruit, chocolate, chicken.

Jan 3, 2009 Pours pale golden color, thick head. Aroma of fruit and alcohol. Some yeast. Flavor is sweet malt, fruit, alcohol with bitterness at the end. Tripels aren’t my favorite but this is a good example.

Dec 31, 2008 This tripel is a really good one. Lots of flavor mixed in here. It’s more fruity than the other St. Bernardus beers but the alcohol was more noticeable too. Perhaps that’s because I had a nice buzz after a few other Belgian beers. They really sneak up on you! Nevertheless, I will be drinking this one again soon.

Dec 30, 2008 Pours honey color with plenty of sediment and a nice white head with plenty of lacing. Can smell yeast, ripe fruit such as banana or pear. A lot of different flavors here, starts fruity sweet with malt, ends a touch bitter with spice and rounds out a bit sour. Tingly mouthfeel, leaves a sticky film behind. Excellent, well rounded tripel, refreshing and enjoyable.

Dec 28, 2008 Pours a dark golden color with a nice fluffy white head. Aroma of yeast, fruit, and spices. Very refreshing taste of mostly fruit, malt, and yeast. Mmm what a good beer.

Dec 28, 2008 Honey like color with great white head, aroma of pleasant vanilla yeast and toffee like sweetness and some less pleasant herbal notes, flavors of strong malt and cream like liquid with alcohole quite noticable finishes with some bitter pleasant taste. A nice triple but I had some better ones before.

Dec 26, 2008 Pours murky orange with a fizzy white head. Aroma is of yeast, malt, spice, citrus, and fruit. Taste is of fruit, malt, yeast, and lemon zest. Very light mouthfeel. Nothing spectacular, but tasty and refreshing taste.

Dec 25, 2008 Updated: Jun 26, 2009Pours chunky amber with a large, one finger off-white head, good lasting lacing. Aroma of caramel, pear, apple, banana, biscuit, and some floral notes. Medium body, velvety, crisp. Delicious fruity flavors, apple, pear, and banana. Slightly sour. Well balanced, with lemon and a very slight bitter aftertaste.
