Commercial Description:
This beer, with high fermentation, has a pale amber colour and a flowery, fruity taste with a harmonious balance between sweet and sour (8% alcohol content). This beer has a thick and vivid froth and strikes by its balanced taste with a delicate bitterness.

750 ml. bottle. Pours a thickish quickly deflating head, lovely lacing, color is pale yellow but cloudy...nose is belgian yeast spice, some cardamom, no hop....taste initially of carbonation then mild sweet malts with accompanying banana tones, finishing with mild hop bitterness, sweet and bitter well balanced....mouth feel appropriate to style.

A decent beer, but disappointing when put next to the 12. Has most of the characteristics of the BT, but in subtler terms. Creaminess, wheat, and other vague goodness with perfect carbonation level. Recommended, nevertheless, get the 12 if available, as in my experience it is only about 10% more in price.

Pours a pale hazy yellow with a two finger creamy white head. the nose is earthy, Belgian, musty, sweet, light alcohol, no spice. The flavor earthy, lightly sweet, slightly off tasting, musty, malty, candy, light alcohol. The palate is crisp with a light bite.

The carbonation is in perpetual and random motion in this dark golden cloudy ale, with its thick white head. The complexity of flavors, sweet, meadows, bitter, even sour, keeps me interested and coming back. A real fine trippel.

330ml bottle (Punavuoren Ahven, Helsinki, Belgian Weeks) - shared by mjs - thanks!
Almond and walnut aroma. Rich amber. Tiny persistent head. Quite vapoury. Lovely soft palate. Loads of fruity esters, but loads of nuts too. Very nice. Ɩ-4-7-4-14=3.5)
Rerate: Bottle (cracked Kettle, Amsterdam)
Fruitier, some apple-pie pastry feel too. Right balance of malt and hops in the mough and the bitterness is great in the finish. Some almonds and walnut papers there too. Score the same, but it might be an underrate.

(Bottle at Punavuoren Ahven, Helsinki, on 2008-09-20) Golden / orange. Hazy. Large quite quickly disappearing white head. Fruity nose with some almonds and salty liquorice aromas. Full bodied palate with little carbonation. Malts, chocolate, salty liquorice, almond, nuts and bitterness in taste. Malty and slightly bitter aftertaste.

Sampled on draught: Pours a bright, cloudy golden colour with a large white head. Taste is pleasent, slightly yeasty and fruity- pineapple, lemon and grapefruit. Aroma is pleasent also. tropical fruits and clove on the nose.

750 shared with Brie for the kickoff of the Patriots vs. Jets. There are some "cheese-heads" in the stadium for Favre’s first start at home for the Jets. The pour is cloudy orange with a long lasting thin white head. The head stays in my Chimay chalice till the last sip. The aroma is of bananas, bread, and a hint of that funkity funk that I love. The mouth feel is smooth and heavy. The dominating flavors are banana, citrus, pepper, and bread. The finish is buttery and sweet. It’s been a while since that last time I have had a beer this complex. This might be the best triple that I have had, the Gouden Carolus is a close second. (so far)
