Beershine (2677), Hue, Vietnam Mar 11, 2008 Updated: Jun 17, 2008Pours hazy dark yellow with thick crown of head. Aromatically sweet with banana and other witbier-like scents as well as a grain and hop purity. Sweet but finishes very clean. Floral, a little fruity, super juicy, and just a nice, easy going, light (not interpreted by me as thin) tripel. re-rate from draught, LeBon. Clear golden, small white head. Complex resinous aroma and dry resinous body. Soft mouthfeel. Some vodka-like elements but smooth and quaffable. kevd193213 (477), Hope Valley, Rhode Island, USA Mar 9, 2008 Golden, slightly cloudy pour with generous frothy head and good lacing. Aroma of yeast/bread and banana spices. Full taste with a really great finish. GJF (480), Cedar Rapids, Iowa, USA Mar 8, 2008 Updated: Jul 8, 2008A delightful beer. This one was poured a bit too cold which was unfortunate--cut the aroma a bit, but was still nice and yeasty. The flavor was sweet malt, herbal with a bready yeasty finish. Pours a hazy gold with a fabulous rocky white head. Very drinkable! Bontus (291), Waasmunster, Belgium Mar 2, 2008 Zhytos beerfest. On tap.
Wanted a grottenbier, but they had none and tried this instead.
Appears hazy blond.
Herbs, fruits, yeast in the nose.
Spicy mouthfeel.
Mildly bitter and sweet aftertaste.
IrishBoy (2685), Bakersfield, California, USA Feb 27, 2008 750ml bottle; cloudy amber-gold with a huge off-white head that laces as it recedes; nose of yeast, very light tartness, spices, cidery overripe apple notes, and a vanilla hint that appreared last; flavor is lightly funky, peppery spices, yeast, and fruity caramel. Darn good stuff! A nice lightly funky tripel! humuloneranger (8), Oregon, USA does not count Feb 23, 2008 Sharp, white head which subsides almost immediately. Doughy, almost apple cider aroma. lots of sediment! Carbonation and sourness at first, followed by many flavors. Green apple, yeast, and spice (i’m not thinking hops). An exciting beer to taste - due, in part, to all the different flavors. bbrock81 (218), Le Mars, Iowa, USA Feb 21, 2008 750 mL bottle. Pours a clear golden yellow, with a large, thick head that dissolves in a few minutes. Aroma is very bright, with citrus, dried pineapple, spicy hops, and yeast. Flavor tracks the aroma fairly well, with a nice balance between sweet malt, bready yeast, and acidic fruit. The finish is spicy, hoppy, and dry. Very nice. BuckeyeSammy (454), Cleveland, Ohio, USA Feb 13, 2008 Amazing nose.. sweet candy, citrus fruits and heavy yeast. Unfiltered, golden color, white head. Well carbonated. Flavor is very spiced, lightly fruity.
Let this one settle for a minute so the heavy carbonation can subside.
