jfenglish (198), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jan 11, 2008 11.2 oz bottle. Amber orange hue. Not as frothy of a head as other tripels. Weiss-like aroma with dried fruit, citrus, and pronounced alcohol. Biting carbonation, touch of grapefruit (sour and bitter), boozy. This one was hard for me to rate- no single component of the beer stood out. Enjoyable. KimJohansen (6645), Copenhagen V, Denmark Jan 11, 2008 Amber with large head. Yeasty aroma with orange peel and spices. Flavor is sweet with fruity notes and a dry end. tympanic (50), Alabama, USA Jan 8, 2008 Fizzy apple cider appearance and aroma. Poured from 11.2oz bottle. Soft and flavorful, hints of apple and pear. Slightly metallic aftertaste. Sticky, lasting layer of thin foam. An enjoyable tripel. dwedin (238), Portland, Oregon, USA Jan 6, 2008 Cloudy amber under a frothy white head. Strong banana and clove aroma. Light body, light alcohol detected, smooth and dry with a high carb fizzy finish. Good but not a lot of depth. Maria (6056), Thisted, Denmark Jan 6, 2008 Amber with a moderate head and good lace. The aroma is fruity and the mouthfeel is round and smooth. The flavour is sweet with notes of fruit, fermented apple and plum. Towards the finish it has a light bitterness and a citric acidity, that last all the way through the finish. Hudspart (371), Hudsonville, Michigan, USA Jan 5, 2008 Bottle: This beer tasted like what I expect a mixture of apple juice and vodka to taste like. Not good at all. holdenn (1431), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jan 4, 2008 Sampled blind at "Better Know a Style: Abbey Tripel". Pours clear orange/amber wiht a creamy smooth head. Aroma of caramel, grains, and malt. Grains, caramels, toffee flavors. Too grainy and fizzy. Blah. andyhite (290), Murfreesboro, Tennessee, USA Jan 2, 2008 excellent 330ml. goldenish with a hint of straw. big foamy over-the-top white head. aromas and flavors slightly mirror each other with intense lime, citrus, and ripe vine fruits as well. the taste is candied-esque with just enough tart fruit to balance the two. lengthy finish. excellent tripel, as to where most are too dry.
