Pours a hazy golden amber with an average size off-white head with excellent lacing (as all St. Bernardus brews seem to have). Another trademark of the monastery are the complex aroma’s of there brews. This one has pine, lemon, chocolate, dough, apple, cinnamon, brown sugar, and banana. Very sweet smelling. Taste is clean with sweet start and mild bitter finish. Soft carbonation and an alcoholic finish make this beer a favorite in my book Erdinger2003 (127), Ames, Iowa, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 23, 2007 Pours out great and leaves some head with a strong lacing. The smell is very flowrey and really great. Has a sweet flowery nose to it, like a great beligan tripel. Taste is malty and sweet with buttery flavors. It has apple fruit tones. Mouthfeel is a little off, but very nice. I don’t like this as much as other Belgians, but it does fine for itself. hombrepalo (757), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 17, 2007 A really nice grainy-sweet aroma. Not sure if the monk is blessing me or showing me the size of his endowment. Oaty, lots of yeast, a golden cake quality to it. Long moderate bitter finish. Good CO2. Pretty good stuff. corby112 (700), philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA

Aroma of white fruits such as apple, grape, and pear. Also, strong alcohol and spice presence. Pretty carbonated at first but becomes intense as it warms. Nice balance of fruitines, maltiness, alcohol, and slight hops. Very crisp enjoyable tripel. Arayaga2 (946), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 15, 2007 A pop of the cork, and it’s pale yellow with a very thin white head, lots of bubbles and inches of lacing. Aroma is appley sweet with cloves. Taste is way drier than the aroma would suggest, and has a metallic hop finish. Other than that, there is not much to it. Somewhat disappointing from one of my favorite breweries. $8/22oz PhillyHomeBrew (176), Forest Hills, New York, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 15, 2007 The body is a light straw color with a quickly fleeting white head. Has a very yeast filled aroma with a little bit of spice and noble hops aroma- from the saaz. The flavor has a little bit of bubblegum taste with a nice bit of sweetness- like honey on the end. yespr (11905), Copenhagen O, Denmark

Pours hazy orange and with fine yeast sediments floating around, has a lasting off-white head. Classic belgian yeast spiced aroma. Flavour holds a classic belgian spiced yeast flavour and with mild caramel malt base. Delicate yet faint compared to many other more flavourful belgian tripels.
