FLnative80 (174), Orlando, Florida, USA Sep 21, 2007 Bottle. 1 pt. 9.4 fl. oz. A hazy, golden yellow color with sudsy, white head. Floral aroma of lemon and yeast. Light to medium body with slightly oily texture. Flavor is sweet spice and malt, then sour wheat and citrus with a dry finish. I was a bit let down by the flavor after such a nice aroma, but overall still a quality brew. Stefano (1321), Esbjerg, Denmark Sep 18, 2007 Deep orange-blond beer with almost a withe foam. Citrus aroma, sweet, spice, corriander. The flavor is complex and have lot from fruits, yeast and bread. Some alcohol but it just makes this one better.
cbeers21 (563), Miami, Florida, USA Sep 14, 2007 Golden with foamy white head, decent lacing. Yeasty and floral hoppy aroma with touches of fruit and spiced clove. Wheaty and yeasty to taste, with peppery, bread, banana, vanilla, fruit flavors, dancing with a floral hoppy background. A smooth, well balanced tripel, with a delicate and complex body. Nice example of the style. RblWthACoz (963), Brooklyn, New York, USA Sep 11, 2007 Pours a clouded gold with a white head. Nose is mild. At first the thing that came to mind was pencil shavings (like when you sharpen your pencil with that little 2nd grade sharpener). Very slight citric tone. Overall though, the nose is very quiet. The flavor. Slightly woody tone on the tail end. But overall, it is extremely well balanced. Smooth and even. On the first sip, the feel was like I opened my mouth, closed my eyes, and had someone pour silk into my mouth. Beautiful. Hence the 5. Very drinkable. One to go back to again and again.
Normally when I see a beer reviewed so much with such a high score, I approach with trepidation. This one did deliver though. And I am glad to have been able to grab a bottle when I was in the Bay area.
RiverHorse (454), New Jersey, USA Sep 1, 2007 Pours a crisp cloudy golden color into the trappist glass. Initially there was about two inches of head that dissapated rather quickly. There was a small bit of lacing on the glass. The scent was of dried fruits, spice and yeast. The flavor was a bit sweet with classic tripel undertones. Not as complex as I would have expected. A middle of the road Tripel. kp (8400), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Sep 1, 2007 Name: Tripel
