chimaybier (51), Redding, California, USA Aug 30, 2007 Purchased 11.2 FL OZ. bottle at Beverages, & More! in Pleasanton, CA. This is an excellent example of what a Tripel should taste like. Nice estery, butterscotch, fruity bouquet. Excellent, deep golden color. Great head retention for a high alcohol beer. Great malt and hop balance. Fruity finish. This is one of my favorite tripels. Anything from this brewery or Westvleteren is a must try. God bless the Trappists! j210277 (5), USA does not count Aug 25, 2007 This has to be one of my favorite Belgians right now, love the flavor smell and taste Mike4686 (120), Bayonne, New Jersey, USA Aug 24, 2007 11.2oz bottle, pours a cloudy dark golden color with a perfect huge white head, lots of bubbles little sediment, fruit, banana, spice present in taste and smell, hops, smooth finish, well rounded beer overall, very good. DruncanVeasey (2690), The Penguin’s Arms, Europe, Warwickshire, England Aug 21, 2007 Hazily sedimented with milky white froth. Fresh, estery fruitbowl nose. Pineapple, pear and banana. Velvety mellow spice, wheaty softness and gentle hop bite. Fruity malt afters. Clean, unsugary, harmonious Tripel. imdownthepub (5086), Banbury, Oxfordshire, England Aug 21, 2007 Bottle conditioned, 330ml, aged 5.5yrs. This poured a perfectly clear gold with high conditioning, rocky white head. A beer that ages this well has to be good, subtle spiciness with fruity, peachy background, a faint sweetness and a rich maltiness leading to a lightly bitter finish. very good. LooseCannon (914), Norfolk, Virginia, USA Aug 20, 2007 11.2oz bottle. Pours cloudy golden color with full foamy white head. Aroma is sweet and yeasty. Taste sweet, yeasty and lite fruit with a dry finsih. Buona tripel comunque. alaskanwarren (286), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 15, 2007 Pours light golden with a massive white head. Lots of lovely tiny bubbles. Really yeasty aroma at first and not as floral as I would expect. Further sniffing reveals a bit more of that floral character you’d expect from belgian tripel yeast. Lots of good esters. Touch of grain. First flavors are nice and sweet. Lots of banana. Some clove and pepper. Finish is yeasty with some of that pepper. Body is on the full side of medium. What a perfect example of what a tripel should be.
