Allen (1282), Switzerland Aug 13, 2007 Bottled 33cl. Black pepper, lemon, melon, yeast and spices in the nose. The head is rather big, creamy and lasting and has a surprising light beige color. The beer is hazy orange - A beautiful Tripel. The taste is very sweet, soft and pleasant in every way. Bready, herbal elements emerge. A nice alcoholic touch shows up just before the finish. Lightly spicy, flowery with a good hop character. Full bodied. This beer leaves a beautiful lacing. Hints of coriander. Fruits include melon, orange and lemon. The finish is dry malty, bready with reminiscent hints of caramel and coffee. cyrenaica (435), Milton, Ontario, Canada Aug 10, 2007 I tried this beer on August 10, 2007 at The Esplanade Biermarket in Toronto. The beer was a cloudy brown in colour with a short lasting off-white head. The aroma was very yeasty with some spicy tinges in the background. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with a fair amount of carbonation while the flavour was full of yeast and wet bread. Another damn fine product from St. Bernardus! viciousg42 (46), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA Aug 6, 2007 id almost tie this with their abt 12. its got a good thick golden color, high level of effervescence, nice medium head. really good after a hard day at work. swoopjones (1862), Buffalo, New York, USA Aug 5, 2007 bottle @ Allen Street Hardware, Buffalo. Darker than a lot of previous Tripels. Nice white head poured into Ommegang glass. Sweet almost toffee like finish. Pretty good Angeloregon (2024), Portland, Oregon, USA Jul 30, 2007 Malty, hoppy nose. Brown sugary/fruity hint. Sweet, savory, full-bodied. This brewery always seems to come through with consistently quaffable treats. OleR (2007), Oslo, Norway Jul 30, 2007 Updated: Jul 31, 2007750 ml corked bottle, cellared for nearly two years. Big white airy head with thick laces. First pour is slight misty copper colored (sediments is still down there) Aroma is lemony and fruity- acidic , yeasty, with whiffs of alcohol.
Taste does not live up to the aroma; some fruitiness, sugar, and a very light hopbitteernss. Medium body. Finish is not very impressive either ; light bitter and sourish. JK (2945), Richfield, Minnesota, USA Jul 29, 2007 A bottle aged nearly 4 years. Surprisingly sweet in the aroma and flavor. The aroma does have some alcohol as well. Flavor has fruit and sugar, and only a little alcohol. A great looking beer, well carbonated and a tall white head. Some sediment. Aged very well. Kirill (264), Durham, North Carolina, USA Jul 28, 2007 nuts, nuts, and lots of nuts. bottle in gent, dark brown with fine thick head, outstanding mixture of hops and nuts
