This poured a perfectly clear gold with high conditioning, rocky white head. A beer that ages this well has to be good, subtle spiciness with fruity, peachy background, a faint sweetness and a rich maltiness leading to a lightly bitter finish. very good. Buona tripel comunque. alaskanwarren (286), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Aug 15, 2007 Pours light golden with a massive white head. Lots of lovely tiny bubbles. Really yeasty aroma at first and not as floral as I would expect. Further sniffing reveals a bit more of that floral character you’d expect from belgian tripel yeast. Lots of good esters. Touch of grain. First flavors are nice and sweet. Lots of banana. Some clove and pepper. Finish is yeasty with some of that pepper. Body is on the full side of medium. What a perfect example of what a tripel should be. Allen (1333), Switzerland
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 13, 2007 Bottled 33cl. Black pepper, lemon, melon, yeast and spices in the nose. The head is rather big, creamy and lasting and has a surprising light beige color. The beer is hazy orange - A beautiful Tripel. The taste is very sweet, soft and pleasant in every way. Bready, herbal elements emerge. A nice alcoholic touch shows up just before the finish. Lightly spicy, flowery with a good hop character. Full bodied. This beer leaves a beautiful lacing. Hints of coriander. Fruits include melon, orange and lemon. The finish is dry malty, bready with reminiscent hints of caramel and coffee. cyrenaica (440), Milton, Ontario, Canada
| 4.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 4/5 | 20/20 | Aug 10, 2007 I tried this beer on August 10, 2007 at The Esplanade Biermarket in Toronto. The beer was a cloudy brown in colour with a short lasting off-white head. The aroma was very yeasty with some spicy tinges in the background. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with a fair amount of carbonation while the flavour was full of yeast and wet bread. Another damn fine product from St. Bernardus! viciousg42 (46), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA
