LinusStick (1830), Moon Twp, suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 3, 2007 Delicious tripel. Pour was a hazy orange with a 1 finger white head (no lacing). Aroma was of yeast and fruit. Taste was dry and yeasty with pear, apple and some other fruit I can’t put my finger on. Medium carbonation and well rounded aftertaste. Man this is good...makes me want to join the monestary! marchcow (664), Coralville, Iowa, USA Mar 1, 2007 Bottle. Poured a solid golden color, fairly opaque with a frothy white head. Aroma of dried fruit and pineapple and malt. Flavor is somewhat bitter initially turning to a pleasing sour. Strong carbonation and a creamy mouthfeel with somewhat dry bite on the finish. Good. lagomswedish (213), Umeå, Sweden Feb 28, 2007 Bottle @ Bishops Arms in Umeå. Hazy orange with a wispy white head. Wonderfully jammy fruit nose of Swedish cloudberries (hjortron) and sweet musky honey. The yeast is very evident in both the aroma and the palate, which is incredibly silky and smooth. Every sip seems to evaporate with a mere kiss of delicate fruit and faint reminder of the abv. A more balanced beer you’d be hard pressed to find. To me a more subtle, more drinkable beer than the 12. My mouth waters at the desserts you could pair this tripel with.......... Cletus (5001), Connecticut, USA Feb 28, 2007 Pours a cloudy amber with a sparse white head. Smells of sweet fruit (citrus mostly with some peaches). Tastes of grainy cereal, apples, pears, some misc fruit flavors and some sugar. No real hoppiness to this one. Most of the flavor seems to come from the malt and yeast from what I can tell. I’m not sure what to think of this one and may have to revisit later. Finish is very syruppy and sugary like fake maple syrup. MadIndian (987), Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA Feb 25, 2007 Bottled. Thanks to stegosaus for this one. Cloudy golden pour with 2 finger thick head. Yeast aroma with hints of belgian spice. Sweet alcohol finish. I enjoyed this very much. MNovak (32), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Feb 22, 2007 Light golden yellow with large creamy head. Yeasty and fruity, mabye pear or apple. Good solid triple. Bart (1625), Vosselaar, Belgium Feb 22, 2007 Hazy yellow coloured, some light carbonation and a large creamy white head. Sweet yeasty fruity aroma (pear, apple hints). Full Palate.
