mgumby10 (1844), Jupiter, Florida, USA Feb 18, 2007 Pours a copper amber with a big frothy white head. Smells of typical tripel noters, citrus and sweet malts. The taste is very sweet. Candy sugar, orange citrus, and sweet malts are all present in the taste. This is about as solid of a Belgian tripel as there is. It defines the style very well, and I would use this one as a clasic example of what one should taste like for someone new. JoeinUccle (902), Brussels, Belgium Feb 13, 2007 Thin amber color, sticky lasting head, smell of dark honey or molasses. Flavor: Alcohol is noticeable but not dominant; mild, brief sweetness of unripe pear becomes mild bitterness. Finish of hops and subtle alcohol. Damn pleasant. Dorqui (1353), Brescia, Italy Feb 11, 2007 Updated: Sep 13, 2007Bottled. Much voluminous and creamy head, good resistance. Yellow clearly color, much fraught, solid and bare of fizz. Rather light scent with malty aromas, sugary, alcohol, aged cereals. Wrapping and much alcoholic taste with a structured body. Much warmth, smooths down and sweetish with agreeable notes of clear mildew and stum. cornhusker01 (76), Omaha, Nebraska, USA Feb 11, 2007 I had this beer at a tasting and its percentile is well-deserved. It was fruity but didn’t have any lead characters that I was aware of. Another fine example of Belgian brewing. GiladA (13), Israel Feb 7, 2007 Aroma: caramel
Appearance: amber, hazy, aminimal head
Flavor: not special
Palate: medium body, fizzy
Overall - I drank better BitchesBrew (710), Berkeley, California, USA Feb 4, 2007 [bottle] Very mellow fruity aroma. Hazy amber in color, with a short white head. Very rich fruit flavors, like pear and apple, with bready yeast background. Alcohol is quite apparent, along with some strong carbonation. Not my favorite St. Bernardus beer, but still quite good. DSG (1501), Tel Aviv, Israel Feb 3, 2007 Updated: Jun 8, 2007Botle. Amber in color with a lot of sparkling. Malty fruity aroma. Flavor is sweet with malt, lemon and some alcohol. A medium body. elektronikfagteknikerlærling (892), kbh, Denmark Feb 1, 2007 bottle. golden color. sweet aroma. quite yeasty and caramelly. bit bready. bit of bitter spicyness.
