ScoWRee (275), Phila, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 14, 2007 Poured amber with a nice head. Sweet aroma. Very pleasent taste. slight bitterness.
The Commercial Description is accurate. animal8788 (32), Austin, Texas, USA Jan 13, 2007 Yellow gold with lots of white head. A little wheat and hop smell. Leaves a nice lacing on the glass. A very subtle taste, easy on the palate, and a bitter aftertaste. It leaves the mouth dry, and it’s a thicker beer that requires you to drink slowly. BeerVirgin72 (778), Pataskala, Ohio, USA Jan 11, 2007 Poured a nice orange/gold color...Very nice, sweet smell! Slight off white head, little lacing...taste of apple and banana, and some citrus. This was really good! unclemattie (2370), Georgia, USA Jan 10, 2007 BB 30.06.09. Golden orange color. aroma of tangerine, caramel, and slight yeast. Sweetness. medium bodied and slight bitterness. Very fizzy texture. Very dry, spicy finish. SpringsLicker (2041), Tennessee, USA Jan 9, 2007 Best before end of 2004 on label.
Pours with a large creamy off-white head. The body is clear dark orange.
Light malt aroma. Caramel and an apple/pear fruitiness. Spicy sweet with a dry finish. Very Nice. Sombeast (151), Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA Jan 8, 2007 12 oz. bottle dated BB 20.09.07 served in a chalice. Aroma is rich and lively, dominated by caramel malt and a subtle yeast note. This beer had an not quite clear orange tea color, and a gentle pour resulted in minimal head and not much replenishing action. Flavor starts spicey and with a strong carbonation note, has a nice gentle malt character that is consistent with the aroma, and ends with a dry, fast finsh and a subtle bitter note. Medium bodied, perhaps a bit on the heavy side. Some lacing on the glass. MarkBarnes (264), Waterville, New York, USA Jan 8, 2007 Jan. 8, 2006; 12 oz. bottle (part of a four-bottle St. Bernardus gift package -- complete with Trappist glass). Lighter in color than the Abt 12, this tripel retains the signature flavor of its brewery. Murky, hazy, cidery appearance. Some banana flavor amid the fruit, for sure. Well-balanced and quite excellent. iep (229), Amsterdam, Netherlands Jan 8, 2007 A very murky, orange-colored tripel. Has a sweet, estery, floral, bready, yeasty aroma with hints of vanilla. The sweet side is more obvious in the taste with a smooth honey taste & supporting yeasty floral notes; overall pretty sweet for a tripel. Spicy and refreshing. The mouthfeel is pretty thick for the style, yet it is nice and smooth with subdued carbonation. Nice one.
