Commercial Description:
This beer, with high fermentation, has a pale amber colour and a flowery, fruity taste with a harmonious balance between sweet and sour (8% alcohol content). This beer has a thick and vivid froth and strikes by its balanced taste with a delicate bitterness.

I shared a bottle of this with BeerBaron617 this evening. It sort of got all foamy and explosive when we opened the bottle, but there wasn’t too much lost in the situation. It poured a dark yellow with lots of floaters. It had a nice fluffy white head. Aroma is sort of typical for a Belgian, but not too heavy on the clove or banana. It has a very nice flavor, sweet, but as the description says it has a bit of sour in it that compliments the flavor quite nicely. I really do enjoy this. it leaves a nice warm feeling in my belly :)

Shared an 11.2 oz bottle with MereLikesBeer. Honestly, nothing more than an average tripel. Classic Belgian notes, with nothing out of place. Tasty stuff, but I expected a little more from this brewer on the first impression. Note- It did fizzy up a bit on the uncapping, which may have added to the overall experience. Either way, not too bad. Cheers!

Pours a deep murky medium dark amber with a frothy white head. Aroma is sweet of spices, some banana, bread, citrus, and yeast. Flavor is some what thick with this bread like feel and taste with some banana, clove/ spices, yeast, citrus, caramel and fruit. The balance of flavors is well done with a sweet and bitter finish to end. Very good tripel, even though i payed 10 dollars for a 1pt 9.4 fl oz bottle and it exploded when I opened it....

St. Bernardus Tripel 8/2/09 (on tap at Blue Palms, 5oz pour. Color is solid gold, with an ample white head. Aroma has some lemony zip, with sugar and an estery touch. Quite nice. Palate is medium, not particularly light, with prickly carbonation. Flavor is far less intriguing than the nose: there is a strong sugary sweet element blended with banana and malt flavors. Grain and yeast are also quite noticeable. Good offering, but I prefer Bernardus’ other stuff.

Straw / slightly amber. Chunks in the drink. An error? Fine-medium bubble head, retained. Not much aroma. Fruity, but not so complex as the Westmalle Triple (from the same tasting). Dry walnut like taste. Interesting, but not good.. Much better concealing the alcohol than the Westmalle Triple from the same tasting. Then again the Westmalle was 9.5% ABV. Nothing special. Chunks in beer to me is gross, hence the low rating. Purchased in SuperBrugsen.

33cl bottle into Trappist glass. A hazy orangey-yellow beer with a large dense foamy white head and nice lacing. Aromas of golden malts, yeasts and soft citrussy hops. The taste is fruity bittersweet malts with a gentle spiciness (a hint of coriander in there) and an alcoholic presence. Medium-full bodied with a rich mouthfeel. I find it quite bitter for the style unlike other comments I have read. Another top quality Belgian Tripel.

A: Poured with a large, white frothy head that diminished to about 1/2-finger size. Body is a nice, dark-golden color that was cloudy, with heavy particles floating around. Good lacing on the sides of the glass. S: Nice aroma, quite similar to the Watou Tripel, with lots of yeast, citrus, and some hints of alcohol. T: Very nice flavor of breadiness, citrus, orange, and a light alcohol warmth in the finish. Average duration. M: Medium-to-full bodied with a creamy texture, and average carbonation... not quite as fizzy as some of the other St. Bernardus beers. D: A very, very good tripel... not the standout of its class, but definitely near the top, and very drinkable for its ABV.

Pours a murky gold with lots of floating yeast chunks (despite careful pouring). Aroma shows the typical belgian yeast along with cinnamon, pears, sour dough bread, and candi sugar. Some subtle sweet alcohol noticeable. Aromas are almost perfectly mirrored in flavour (with the exception of cinnamon). The sweetness is a bit overbearing however. I’m not a fan of the huge carbonation either even if it is part of the style.
