COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer, with high fermentation, has a pale amber colour and a flowery, fruity taste with a harmonious balance between sweet and sour (8% alcohol content). This beer has a thick and vivid froth and strikes by its balanced taste with a delicate bitterness.

UPDATED: DEC 9, 2006 Pours deep, cloudy gold with thick, nearly-white head. Aroma is sweet, a little grassy, green raisins, clover honey, and alcohol. The flavor is fruity, very malty, some funky yeast flavors, and a touch earthy hops. Sweet in the beginning, like honey-glazed dried fruits in the middle, and dry finish. The mouthfeel is a bit thin for a beer of this strength and very strongly carbonated.

750 ml bottle into signature chalice, no bottle dating. Pours hazy and cloudy golden straw color with a nice 2 finger dense white head with great retention that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Some spotty lacing on the glass. Aromas of big lemon, citrus, biscuit, grape, herbal, clove, pepper, and yeast spices. Fantastic aromas with nice strength and balance. Taste of big orange, pepper, lemon, biscuit, herbal, grape, lightly tart grain, candi sugar, and yeast spices. Lingering notes of citrus, herbal, biscuit, and yeast spices on the finish for a bit. Incredible balance of flavors across the board, fantastic. Medium-high carbonation and medium bodied; with a fairly creamy and slick mouthfeel. Some prickly carbonation while drinking, but still is extremely smooth to drink. Alcohol is extremely well hidden with nothing noticed other than a slight warming after the finish. Overall this is a world class tripel for sure. Incredible flavor balance, smooth drinkability, and great complexity.

Bottle. Aroma has notes of white fruits, dust, Belgium candy, floral hops and cereal malts. Medium gold hue with a large white foamy head that mostly diminished and left ok lace. Flavor is very sweet and lightly bitter. Palate is full bodied with average carbonation. Overall a nice tripel that drinks well and hits every mark. Nice.

330 ml bottle bought @ Bierzwerg.de. Pours hazy golden with a huge frothy white head that leaves lots and lots of trace on the glass while slowly dissipating. Smell is subtle and sweet with cookie dough, ash, yeasty esters and sweet very ripe fruits. Taste is sweet, slightly bitter, spicy and very malty with banana, plums, cilantro, black pepper, cookie dough, banana bread, lemon peal and yeasty esters. Finish is rather dry, bitter and spicy. A bit weird and unexpected but very nice, exciting and enjoyable.

Aroma is spicy, fruity, yeasty and slightly estery. Loads of banana on the palate, some clove notes, fruitiness and a hint of caramel. Crazy monks and their awesome beer!

Gyllene lätt beslöjad öl med vitt livligt skum. Jäst, kryddor och citrus i doften. En söt, citrusfruktig smak balanseras av en lätt bitterhet.

Pale golden pour, cloudy, good head that lingers along the edge of the glass. Bready aroma with apricot and some underlying aroma I can’t identify (but is good). Smooth on the tongue, with an initial sweet breadiness edging toward caramel. The flavor stays on the tongue well. I like it.
