3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Amber color with thin head. Sweet aroma. Slightly malty and syrupy taste. The maple is just barely detectable. Decent, but not special.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Clear amber w/ light tan finger of foam. Fairly simple aroma of malt & maple w/ some phenols evident. Thin, fizzy feel. Flavour of maple, caramel, toffee, & pepper is slightly more complex than aroma.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Almost a light maple color with thick white head. Faint maple, light hops and some malt notes. Med-light weight with dry finish. Lightly sweet with mild maple flavors and faint hops. Refreshing and well made.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Slightly hazy amber with a white head. Aroma is muted but some some sweet maple and malt notes poke through. Flavour is nice, moderately sweet with a nice maple ítangí about it. Just enough underlying bitterness to prevent it from being cloying. Nice palate and mouthfeel. Very pleasant and quaffable brew. Thanks Obisbeer.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle pours a hazy dark golden, small fizzly white head, strong carbonation, with spotty lacing.   Quite a subtle aroma, light malts, hops, and slightly floral.   Tastes like a slightly hopped up lager, somewhat smooth, with minor tree sap notes.   Body and mouthfeel arenít all that interesting.   Finishes slightly spicy... is that maple?   Doesnít seem strong enough in that sense.   Interesting idea tho.   Thanks goes out to footbalm for the trade!

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
I come not to praise this beer, just not to damn it so much.
Color: clear and syrupy, head is good,off-white, well-retained.
Aroma: remarkably spare at first, with a shyly forthcoming sweet, maltiness, that doesnít develop into anything.
On first sip, very little. No hops, nice, tasty malt, minimal texture, scant body. There are hints of a maple flavor here, but they are very small. Perceptible, but not pronounced. Then again, does anyone really want a great deal of maple in their beer? Unless you want to pour it on you pancakes with breakfast?
A very drinkable ale, but altogether unremarkable in every way. Itís an interesting idea, to make a beer with one of Minnesotaís principal products, but I canít understand how theyíre still in business making only this and a pepper ale!

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
I wonder if the recipe has evolved at all. I couldnít get much maple out of this, except well after it had left my mouth and I was pondering the finish. Much more noticeable was an IPA-like bouquet, with a round floral quality. Bronze color, like the lifeguards at the swimming pool on this hot July day in Texas. Finished much drier than I thought a maple beer would. Not a bad beer.
