Bottle. Poured copper colour . Aroma was very malty with some sweetness. Boring.

(bottle, 33cl, as St. Erhard Bamberg, without the additive “Kellerbier”) Clear, deep golden to light-amber colour with a medium-sized off-white foamy head. Sweet caramel aroma with notes of marzipan and grassy hops. Moderately sweet and delicately bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a crisp mf. Cara-malt upfront with hints of toffee, subtle fruity notes and a tinge of grassy hops; sweet and delicately bitter caramelly and slightly grassy hoppy finish. Lacks the real Bamberg spirit. Less-than-mediocre contract beer, unfortunately filled in clear glass bottles. 05.X.13

Stylish bottle and label design. A lot of information on the label (Vienna, Pilsner, Cara-Munich malt, Hops from Tettnang). Unusual clear for a Zwickel / Kellerbier. Dark amber, clear, frothy, white foam, bread, cereal, herbs, dried fruits, alcohol, vanilla, medium sweetness, lightly bitter, medium body, oily feel, average carbonation, long finish,

A poorly-made imitation of Franconian kellerbier which smells of sweet and sour malt, dog food, burnt nuts, oxidation (wet cardboard, stale crackers). A wash of DMS / vegetables / compost / garbage bin with a thin, lifeless body.

Bottle(rumours say brewed in Hallerndorf…):Deep golden to light amber coloured, mid-sized off-white head that slowly diminishes, mainly malty and caramelly nose, interrupted by hayish-grassy hops; light to moderate bitter-sweet flavour, quite light bodied; quite thin bitter-malty finish with a delicate metallic tinge. Pretty horrible by franconian standards…

Fancy clear bottle. Pours a nice copper with offwhite cream and fine carbonation. Grainy and oxidized/papery nose, not lightstruck surprisingly enough. Medium body, mellow mouthfeel. Caramel, grain base. Grassy, herbal hops. Light minerals and spice. Quick finish, light butterscotch aftertaste. Not that interesting IMO.

Aromat przeciętny, słodowy z lekką nutą karmelową i korzenną. Piwo idealnie klarowne, koloru pomarańczowego. W smaku wyczuwalny karmel z wyraźną nutą paloną.

Bottle looks strange. Beer in the glass not too zippy, head okay. Beer starts mild, dry-malty, quite metallically. Mild sourish notes in the background. Finish metallically and soapy. Not very drinkable. Not my favourite.

nice-looking beer: amber and copper; smells malty, even mashy; tastewise, it starts off with delicate roasting flavours, a touch of caramel, even a bit of cassis comes in, together with a tingling sourness – and – oops! – that’s disappointingly that.
