TheJestersBeer (1665) - SWEDEN - JAN 14, 2012
330ml bottle. Pours a clear, medium orange/amber, with a white head. Quita spicy, malty aromas, some hops, caramel, a floral touch, dried fruits, marzipan, faint hints of licorice, earth, leather, yeast. Complex, but a bit rough. Seim sweet, medium to full bodied, medium to high bitterness, low CO2. Quite complex, spicy taste, malt, caramel, dried fruits, hops, apricot, grapefruit peel, yeast, walnuts, earth. Well made, but a bit robust, could need a bit more body, and maybe some further ageing. (2012-01-13)

Bottled. A red beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of malt, caramel, and spices. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, hops, spices, and bread, as well as a bit of alcohol, leading to a dry alcoholic finish.

Bottle from Systembolaget. Pours deep amber. with a small/medium thich white/off-white head. Notes of pine, yeast, dried fruits, alcohol, honey and malt. Sweet, but not as sweet as many other barley wines, more lika a DIPA with a light bitterness.

Quite bland and not what I hoped for. Supposed to be a Barley Wine but I don't see that. Some caramel and honey but nothing special. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle 33 cl, SB. Pours slightly murky deep red mahogany with a great beige head leaving some lace. Aroma is weak; malty, bready, fruity and a bit caramel. Flavor is malty, bready, fruity, bitter and perry. Finishes malty bitter. Not a BW imho and I’ll rate the beer as a BW. But a good beer, more like a malty IPA.
