Tasting after party at Marko’s, in Belgrade. I brought this bottle from Gothenburg. Gorgeous ruby brown. Huge smoke, big ham and the peaty whisky is big on the aroma as well. This just wafts off smoke. Soapy foam head. Huge smoke body, somewhat sickly. Peat doesn’t follow through after big aroma. Meaty aftertaste. Interesting, but strange. Over the top with the smoke.

Bottle @ home. Dark copper color with a medium beige head. Dry smoked aroma with wood, peat, juniper & grass. Some sweet maltiness. Dark bread and subtle roasted notes / milk chocolate balances. Dry taste with a sweet whiskey-like maltiness. Has smoke, peat and wood and light roasted notes plus some caramel in the background. Finish has more juniper and a earthy hop bitterness.

Bottle courtesy of luttonm, thank you sir! Beautiful crystal clear ruby maroon color, beige head with nice retention and lacing. Aroma of burning Irish bogs, very intense. The taste pales in comparison, with burnt charcoal on a sweet creme brullee background.

In Belgrade bottle. Pours clear reddish brown, thin off white head. Nice aroma: smoked ham! Mouth is bit watery and anonymous. Pitty. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

@ Basunen 14-9-3: mycket trevlig och stor doft av rök, skinka och torv. Smaken är tyvärr lite klen med ganska bleka toner. En ok öl. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone ---- Soberness not garanteed!

Bottle. Poured clear dark brown with no head to speak of. A kick in the nose of bad bacon, peat and ash. Tasted much the same as the nose was overwhelming. First rauchbier, not my thing.

Bottle at home. Clear amber/brown - offwhite head. Lovely smokey. Smooth body. Light sweetness. Hay. Grainy. Roasted. Grassy. Light bitterness. Red berries. Tobacco - pipe tobacco. Nice.

Bottle. An almost clear one, dark golden to copper in color and with a small, dense off-white head. The aroma is rather peated, with some meaty notes and dried fruits. Medicine and some bacon. It has some sweetness in the flavor, with peated malts, cured meaat and a touch of dried fruits. Full body and a pleasant carbonation level, quite dry. Lasting smoked, bonfire finish with a touch of dried fruits and cured meat. Quite nice this one, but I prefer the beers that aren’t peated. 140815

Bottle. Pours amber with an off-white head. Aroma of smoke, peat, tar, rope, ash, malt and some fruitiness. Flavor is sweet and smoked with some peat, whisky, ash and tar. Medium body, average carbonation.
