COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
S:t Eriks Sommar Ale är det första ekologiska ölet i S:t Eriks framgångsrika serie av mikrobryggda öl. Årets sommaröl är bryggt på Slottskällan i Uppsala av 100 procent ekoklassificerade råvaror, inklusive humle av sorten First Gold. Det är en dvärghumle med en fin, attraktiv, engelsk East Kent Golding karaktär som ger en apelsinaktig doft och arom. S:t Eriks Sommar Ale har en lite lättare i kropp och karaktär i jämförelse med Jessica Heidrich tidigare öl, men hennes förkärlek till humle går ändå inte att ta miste på. Det gör S:t Eriks Sommar Ale till en perfekt måltidsdryck en somrig lunch eller picknick med exempelvis inkokt lax, grillade kycklingklubbor, wraps eller spenatpaj med fetaost. Ölet är vackert bärnstensfärgat med en humlearomatisk, nyanserad doft med inslag av apelsin. Smaken är elegant balanserad med aromatiska toner av gräs, knäckebröd, fruktkaka och avslutande beska med inslag av Sevilla-apelsin.

Fresh tempting fragrance. Grassy aroma, lots of hops, grape fruit tones and some other citrus. Not too sweet. A little yeast in the flavor, but that doesn’t matter. This is a really good ale, for summer or winter.

Furseth (1955) - Kungälv, SWEDEN - AUG 27, 2011
Bottle: Clear golden colour, with a thin head. Aroma is citrus, and sweet maltynes, som fruitynes in the end. Flavor had a mild citric, malty fresch mouthfeeling, Thin body , with a medium fruity finish.

Bottle at RBESG Grand Tasting, held at Dean Swift. Medium blonde color. Great green hop aroma, with pilsner malt and sweet lemon. Nice nose. Grainy, biscuity flavor, with bready malt and nice hop bitterness. A nice lager-like ale.

Bottle 33 cl. A clear golden colour with a minimal white head. An aroma of citrus and yeast. The taste is light sweet. A medium body, avarage carbonation and a dry, hoppy finish.

(Draught at Bishop’s Arms Folkungagatan, Stockholm) Golden amber colour with foamy, off-white head. Fruity, slightly malty nose with notes of citrus, dried apricots and gooseberries. Fruity, malty taste with initial hints of grain and toast, turning into citrus and grapefruit in a dry, refreshing finish with a generous bitterness. Medium body, fairly dry. Nice and refreshing.

Bottle from Systembolaget, Värnamo. Nice head with good duration. Color is golden. Aroma and taste are nice hops, elderflowers and other flowers, citrus, malt and caramel. Nice and refreshing.

Bottle from Systembolaget, Charlottenberg. Firm white top, leaving fine laces. Body is hazed golden. Nice smell of flowers and orange-marmelade. Taste is gently sweet and rounded. Faint biscuit and honeyed malts. Carfully hopped; Floral and light grassy and fruity. Light without being thin. Creamy on the palate. A balanced and elegant ale.

Bottled. Pours out in a clear golden colour with a small bubbly white foam. Grassy, orangey and bit earthy hops in the aroma with notes of tangerine and cookies. Medium-bodied with notes of oranges, orange-peels, grass, cookies and caramel. Medium-bitter finish of orange-peels, earth and grass with notes of apricots, cookies and tangerine.

Flaske: >Pilsnergul klar øl med et fint hvidt skumhoved. Duft af engelsk humle og en smule dild. Smagen er frisk humlet med en god del bitterhed. God lawn mower beer måske med en tand for meget bitterhumle i forhold til smagshumle. Men mere en apa end en golden ale. Fin øl.
