St. Feuillen’s centuries old brewing traditions combine with Green Flash Brewing Company’s cutting edge brewing techniques to form our first collaborative brew: Bière De L’Amitié (Friendship Brew). A blond Belgian collaboration ale, brewed with St. Feuillen’s traditional yeast and spices. For a modern twist, we add rye malt, wheat malt, and American Amarillo hops. At the crossroads of collaboration, we dry-hopped the brew for more zest. It’s old-world Belgian Abbey-style meets new-world American craft brewing - and a friendship is formed.

Pretty good brew. Self popping cork! With a good, solid bang, too!! Poured with a small to medium sized, sudsy, off white head that lasts a little and some lace. Color is a slightly hazy light amber. Aroma is lots of citrus fruit, malt, yeast. Taste is very similar with lots of lingering sweetness. Body is very good and it has champagne like carbonation. Finish is like flavor and of medium length. Easy drinking beer.

Tap at Paradiso Dupont. Pours a slight hazed yellow- mostly clear with a relatively dense, bright white head that has decent retention and scant lacing. Aroma is potpourri, bitter orange peel, perfume oils, some spice, lemonade. Taste is very dry, some saison character, light candi sugar, soapy, perfumey. 9.5%abv is not noticeable.

Pours golden with a foamy white head. Flavor is close to a saison, dry with some rye/wheat funk, booze, and white wine flavors. Eh.

Murky golden color with a small, white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of orange, citrus, floral hops, toast, toffee, yeast, and light alcohol. Taste of citrus, grass, earthy yeast, orange peel, grapefruit, and light alcohol.

Pours a deep opaque blonde. Thus is one of the best belgian blondes I’ve ever had. Lots of spices on the nose and a wonderful lingering finish. The dry hopping gives it a great finish.

Tap at Capones. Pours a lightly hazy golden yellow with a medium bubbly/foamy white head. Aroma of spicy Belgian yeast notes, citrusy and floral hop notes, light banana. Flavor of banana, lemon zest, dry, orangey hop notes, bready malt, spicy and fruity Belgian yeast character. Nice hop flavor and bitterness.

Purchased at Dilly Deli, Cincinnati, OH. 750ml bottle, corked and caged. Poured into a tulip. Thanks for recommending this beer peanut! I really liked this beer, even more than I had anticipated. Essentially like a ramped up duvel. The rye and amarillo hops lend a nice spicy quality to this beer while the wheat malt adds a great deal of body to it. Bright golden, perhaps a shade darker than duvel. HUGE dense white head that lasts and lasts and will get away from you if you’re not careful. Light spice on the nose, but mid-palate and the finish is where this beer really shines. The hop and rye bitterness burst through the fluffy wheat palate and complement the respectable abv (9.5%) to produce a satisfying finish that warms the back of your mouth and throat. hides the alcohol pretty well, but a little heat on the tail end. Moderate to high ester and yeast flavors and a healthy dose of hops make this beer a true treat!

Sampled as a bonus at the mead tasting at Blacklick Wine & Spirits on 7/29/10. Pours clear gold with a huge white meringue head. Grassy nose with herbal notes and grassy hops. Sweet malt flavor followed by herbs (I’m mostly getting lemongrass) and a nice bitter finish.

Light hazy yellow with a huge, fluffy white head. Light notes of bread, citrus, spices, clove, bubblegum and subtle hops in the aroma. Bright gentle cirtrus flavor is balanced by a soft yeastiness, bread, and light spice. Nice well balanced summery belgian. Medium body with lots of carbonation.
