COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
St. Feuillen’s centuries old brewing traditions combine with Green Flash Brewing Company’s cutting edge brewing techniques to form our first collaborative brew: Bière De L’Amitié (Friendship Brew). A blond Belgian collaboration ale, brewed with St. Feuillen’s traditional yeast and spices. For a modern twist, we add rye malt, wheat malt, and American Amarillo hops. At the crossroads of collaboration, we dry-hopped the brew for more zest. It’s old-world Belgian Abbey-style meets new-world American craft brewing - and a friendship is formed.

750 ml. bottle- Pours hazy orange with a one finger white head. The aroma is yeasty, pepper spice, citrusy, clean cut grass. The taste is wheaty, yeasty, citrusy, the hops are there, more so than your average Belgian Strong Ale, kind of a dry yet sweet cantaloupe hop taste, the malt is sweet and light. It has that quintessential Belgian taste, with dry hopping! Body is medium and sticky, carbonation is high and bubbly. Overall this was good, I enjoyed it.

Cloudy yellow, generous head. Sweet malt and Belgian yeast on the nose. Bitter/sweet tug of war on the tongue. Orange, vanilla, soft grains(oats?) and alcohol through the middle. Alcohol on the way out predominates, backed by numerous hops.

Herbal smell, vegetable, spices. Dark pour with marbling. Salty, spicy, peppery taste with a bitter after. Not a fan. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12oz bottle----> snifter, Pours blackish orange with a small tan head with a little lacing. Heavy spice aroma with licorice and menthol. Taste is very roasty with a good mix of spices. Palate is a bit dry and well carbonated. Can’t put my finger on the spices, but I really like this beer. Good holiday beer.

From a tap at the brewery, Belgian sugar taste, medium body, brown in color, a hoppy belgian ale?

Looks great, tastes good. Palate is a little weak. Decent brew, definitely worth a try.

On tap at the Knick. Initial aroma is Campho-phenique and cat urine. Big phenols, esters here. Spicy herbal and woody notes. Funky. Dark black opaque with foamy thin light tan head. Medium-heavy body with fairly heavy carbonation. Starts with roasted and chocolate malt notes, bitter chocolate, and Brett-funky bitterness. Light hop notes with medium-heavy bitter finish. Carbonic tang with rubber phenol and Band-Aid. Interesting tastes here.

Poured from 750, cloudy light gold, with a medium white head. Mild fruity nose, ripe-banana like. Slightly sweet taste, spicy with a touch of heat. this is pretty good stuff, zesty is a good word to describe it.

750ml bottle $13. Nice orange color, decent head and a hoppy aroma. Citrus wafts up as well as a distinct spiciness. The flavor was more hops, citrus, and spices and well done I might say. I could not help but think this was distinctly influenced by Green Flash as it reminded me a bot of their tripel and le freak. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 09-12-2010 00:41:55
