3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Skinnyviking (5956) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - MAY 20, 2013
Bottle. Huge and long long lasting off-white head. Very dark ruby body. What a beauty! Sweet roasted malt caramel cocoa nut vanilla aroma. Raisin prune cocoa apple flavor that is relatively sweet but has a nice hint of bitterness though. Low carbonation. Short finish. Alcohol nicely subdued by the sweetness of the beer.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Borresteijn (3651) - Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - MAY 19, 2013
On tap at Gollem II, sold to me as St. Feuillien Printemps, ABV 6.5%. I asked the bartender and he told me all his kegs of Printemps were filled with this almost black beer.. So either it’s a new recipe, or it’s this beer. For now, I’ll rate it here. As said, almost black, light-beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, soft liquorice, toffee, all soft and a bit muted. Flavour is light to medium-sweet, liquorice, toffee, roasted malts, some coffee, dry, light bitter finish. Light-bodied. Certainly not as sweet as expected from St. Feuillien. Nice surprise.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 ClubGonzo (2717) - Bergen, NORWAY - MAY 2, 2013
Bottle from Beer Planet, Brussels. Pours a deep brown body with a huge eggshell-hued head. Nose is licorice, saison yeast tones, chocolate and hints of dark berries. Taste is huge licorice tones, ashes, anisseed, hints of burnt toast and light straw notes. High carbonation and extremy watery body. Ok, but a bit too clean and lacking body, for some reason.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 TET (1097) - FINLAND - APR 19, 2013
A colabrown beer with a very big, light brown head. Aroma is weird but in a good sense, fruits and spices, strong liquirice, roastiness, herbs and lots of mint. Taste is strongly bitter, roasted, some liquirice, herbs and mint. Medium bodied, high carbonation. Unique mix of fruits and dominating roastiness with herbal mint.
