This light ale has a deep golden colour with a smooth, frothy head. It is very perfumed with an unmistakable hint of aromatic hops and a fruity (citrus) note from the spices used in production. The body has an intense yet distinctive bitterness and a strong malty taste which is a delight to the palate. The overall effect, however, is a slight dryness and hoppiness.

UPDATED: DEC 13, 2006 Bottle. Yellow slightly cloudy colored with a sparkling body. Most impressive fizzy like head and very long lasting. Fair lacing left in glass. Aroma was moderated yeast with other notes of flowers, perfume, slight citrus and some malty sweetness to it as well. Flavor was light-moderated sweet, with an almost acidic to it. Palate where body was light to medium, with carbonation being very fizzy. Finish is very sweet with some balance if bitter. Nice and drinkable Blond.

I would relate this to Duvel, but a lot more wild. Lots of yeast, powerful flavors here. Thick meringue-like head over straw colored liquid.

Bottle. Sampled after Abbay des Rocs Montagnarde but even so, this managed to pull through as a pretty solid blonde. I guess that says something.

Tasted 27/08/2006. 330ml bottle from Rumble’s, Wellington. Yellow gold, thin white head, chunks everywhere. Old oranges and pepper on the nose initially, followed by a hokey pokey like character. Dry in the mouth, with peppery notes and bittersweet orange. Dry bitter finish. Spritzy, light medium. Yet another well made belgian strong.
