Bottle from Open All Hours, Keswick. Excellent blond. Bottle conditioned hazy blond appearance persistent whitish head. Spice, honey, vanilla, lemon, pepper, yeast all meld together nicely in aroma. More complex than your average blond.

(Bottle 33 cl) In my original version simply known as "St. Feuillien" (the "Brune" and "Triple" came later. Pale golden with a huge head. Very soft and rounded body with just the right touch of hops in the dry finish. 100496

This beer looks as appetizing as a blonde beer ever does! Floral scent which mingles with sweetness once in your mouth. The palate is full and it’s easy-drinking. There’s a perfumy flavour in the aftertaste, but not in a bad way. It’s a delightful beer and smooth as ever on tap!

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a clear golden color with a medium white head. The aroma is very appealing and enjoyable, I can smell fruits, hops, yeast, bread and spices. The flavor is very enjoyable with a decent level of complexity, there’s hops, fruits, spices, yeast and bread, the finish is mild and bitter. Medium to full body, the texture is very smooth and confortable, the carbonation is lively. I’m very surprised and blown away by this beer, it’s very good, very well made.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Light yellow color, cloudy appearance. Lively carbonation. Medium sized white head. Spicy, fruity, basic Belgian aroma with hints of licorice. Medium bodied. Strong alcohol in flavor with strong spices and mild fruits. Alcohol lasts strongly in aftertaste. Too alcoholic for my taste, aroma is nice with mild licorice.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
good head, but a little laging in retention. The smell and taste of hops are well balanced. Nice dry palate, but a little more complexity would be fitting. Overall a rather good blonde for a rather largish brewery.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: APR 25, 2008 (Bottled, 0.33l) Slightly hazy golden, medium, creamy head (almost no yeast in this one). Mild, honey-malty aroma with some spiciness. Pale-malty, quite coriander-spicy flavor with juniper. Somewhat acidic. Medium body, quite refreshing. A well-made, crisp blonde - but not as tasty as in the bigger, more yeasty bottle.
(Bottled, "Jean de Nivelles Blonde") Hazy golden color with a large, tight and pillowy head, plus lots of large, floating yeast clumps. Leaves a very thick lace into glass. Honey-fruity, dryish and yeasty aroma with bubblegum hints. Quite dry and acidic, fruity flavor with honey hints. No alcohol present. Medium-bodied with balanced, slightly foamy carbonation. A pleasant, enjoyable and refreshing, dryish blonde with some acidity and sourness.

(Bottled, 0.75l, 0.33l) Hazy, light golden color with a white, foamy and lacy, everlasting head. Mint, juniper, yeast and flowers in the very refreshing aroma. Lemony-fruity, sweetish and spicy juniper and anise flavor. Medium-bodied, slicky and sweetish palate with a high and foamy, but smooth carbonation. A crisp and refreshing, spicy and harmless summer blonde. A bit similar to Radermacher Rader Blonde.
