This light ale has a deep golden colour with a smooth, frothy head. It is very perfumed with an unmistakable hint of aromatic hops and a fruity (citrus) note from the spices used in production. The body has an intense yet distinctive bitterness and a strong malty taste which is a delight to the palate. The overall effect, however, is a slight dryness and hoppiness.

Una birra molto aromatica e fruttata. Corposità medio alta con forti sentori di cereali e caramello. Buoni i lieviti impiegati, ottima la persistenza

Bottle 0.33L. Hazy golden body with large, frothy, white head, mostly lasting with nice lacing. Moderate hoppy (orange) and malty (grains) aroma with notes of spices (coriander). Moderate sweet flavour with light-to moderate bitter character and notes of spices. Medium body with oily texture; average carbonation.

Draught @ Le Trappiste, Brugge. Pours clear golden with airy white head. Clear aroma of fruit and flowers, with notes of hops and yeast and some uncanny touches of rubber. Bitter, hoppy flavour with strong floral notes and touches of malt and citrus. Bitter, hoppy aftertaste with notes of citrus. Decent but would be better without the rubber touch.

330ml bottle poured in a Leffe chalice. A: Pours a pale yellow color with a big white fluffy head. Small retention and only few lacings left S: Deliciously spicy. Quite sweet, reminds honey, vanilla, mellon, coriander and pepper. Orange zest. Herbs and flowery hops T: Quite spicy beer. Malts, belgian yeasts, candy sugar, coriander, melon and pepper. Sweet upfront followed by a dry taste and a considerable bitter hoppy end M: Heavy body, medium carbonation. Balanced sweet bitterness O: Good drinkability. Very Belgian. Great beer [ BA Review @ 12/25/2011 ]

Tasted from tap and 33 cl bottle. The best known variant of Saint-Feuillien, a tripel with thick, snow white, moussy head and golden blond colour, misty. Soft character, bit bready, floral hops, restrained fruitiness, yeasty; well rounded palate. Elegant, but perhaps some more hop bitterness would not harm it.

UPDATED: FEB 6, 2015 Draught@Poechenellekelder Bxl 09/2014 - alas, only one week before Manneke Pis would be pissing this for free. In all aspects of appearance, aroma and mouthfeel veyr much the mild & smoothest version of a Belgian tripel, well-behaved to the point of serial sessionabilty: some citrus marmelade and peach syrup join bready, suavely amped pilsner malts. Herbal, earthy hop bitterness remains subservient to the overall round smoothness. Very much the less sugary Wallonian partner to Augustijn Blond. / Rerate bottled 75cl, bb10/2014: much more honey, apple and pear in aroma, pear compote and honey blossom in taste. Smooth, with a round finish and minor abv insurgences. Strange they’ve decided to add vitamin C...

Retrogosto discreto, levante lupulado. Excelente Blond, equlibrada, grande surpresa.
