This light ale has a deep golden colour with a smooth, frothy head. It is very perfumed with an unmistakable hint of aromatic hops and a fruity (citrus) note from the spices used in production. The body has an intense yet distinctive bitterness and a strong malty taste which is a delight to the palate. The overall effect, however, is a slight dryness and hoppiness.

Metallic, melon nose for this clear, yellow-brown ale. Sharp, slightly malty, alcoholic taste, there is too much carbonation for this to be smooth. Has a creamy head and drying quality, and is rather crisp with hints of dark fruit.

(bottle, best before 05.08.2004) Hazy orange colour with big yeast floaties and small creamy white layer. Dusty and yeasty fruity (orange, peach) aroma with a touch of cloves. Light bitter flavour, medium body. Citrus fruity and slightly sweet malty taste with yeasts with a lemon fruity, light hop bitter and slightly alcoholic but warming finish. Quite rounded brew.

75 cl bottle. Golden colour with a fizzy white head. Nice aroma of spice, fruit, yeast and a little sweetness too. Flavour of grain, yeast, spice and ends up with a very dry finish.

Bottle from Super Saver. Hazy gold pour with hopcitrus, spice, and floral malty aroma. Semi-dry palate, with flavors of hopcitrus, some floral spicy notes, and fruit. Medium palate with a finish that gets tarter as it warms.

Tasted 27/08/2006. 330ml bottle from Rumble’s, Wellington. Yellow gold, thin white head, chunks everywhere. Old oranges and pepper on the nose initially, followed by a hokey pokey like character. Dry in the mouth, with peppery notes and bittersweet orange. Dry bitter finish. Spritzy, light medium. Yet another well made belgian strong.
