COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This brown ale has a marked ruby brown colour with a generous and lasting head. It has a distinctive aroma reflecting the wide range of ingredients used in its production. The fruitiness resulting from its fermentation blends harmoniously with a dominant liquorice and caramel flavour. The body is decidedly malty. The bitterness is the result of a complex alchemy between the fine hops and special malts used. These give St Feuillien Brune a typical dark chocolate appearance.

330ml bottle poured into a goblet. Appearance is a hazy dark brown with a huge rocky off-white head. The head lasts forever and clings to the sides of the glass. Smells of banana, caramel and toffee along with a certain yeastiness that is hard to describe. Smells Belgian Flavors of banana nut bread along with some light caramel. There is some breadiness along with dark fruits such as raisin and fig. Also a slight metallic note. Mouthfeel is full-bodied and sticky with alcohol being barely detectable. Overall a decent beer although I have to admit that this is not one of my favorite styles. I feel this is a respectable representation, though.

75 cl bottle @ home, BBE 12.11.2010
Aroma has ripe fruits, candi sugar and toffee typical to aged belgian ales. Flavour is rather sugary and rich on toffee. Also some caramel, brown sugar and orange peel. Causes yeasty burps. Foamy palate. Way too sweet stuff, this really was better before the BBE date.

Pours a dark amber color with a nice frothy off-white head that lasts throughout. Aromas and flavors of dark fruit, caramel, chocolate and a slight hint of alcohol. Medium bodied with a chewy malty finish. Very good beer.

Pours a deep orange with a huge frothy tan head. Aroma is dark fruits, caramel, orange, yeast and spices. Taste is also quite fruity and yeasty. After taste is sweet with a slight burn from the high alcohol content and a slight lingering bitterness. I like this one.

33cl bottle. Poured a brown coloured beer with a good formation of a frothy, creamy and tan head. Nice lacework on the glass. Aroma is caramelish, sweet, alcoholic and yeasty. Flavour has dry fruits notes, yeasty, bready, spicy, candy sugar and chocolate with milk traces. The final is moderate bitter/moderate sweet; excellent balance. Carbonation is medium. Body is medium to high. Texture is oily.

Poured with a very, very thick head that left lovely lace. Nose was warm, dark fruit and that followed in the taste with warm dark fruit.
