COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This brown ale has a marked ruby brown colour with a generous and lasting head. It has a distinctive aroma reflecting the wide range of ingredients used in its production. The fruitiness resulting from its fermentation blends harmoniously with a dominant liquorice and caramel flavour. The body is decidedly malty. The bitterness is the result of a complex alchemy between the fine hops and special malts used. These give St Feuillien Brune a typical dark chocolate appearance.

Aroma of plums, raisins, brown sugar, pears. A little bit of astringency in those dark malts. Burnt fruit, hint of florals…not bad dubbel.

Bottle 750ml @ home
Pours hazy amber/brown with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, dried fruits, alcohol, yeast and caramel. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter with a long warm, dried fruity and yeasty finish. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to fizzy.

The brown counterpart of Saint-Feuillien Blonde, harder to find; deep bronze colour, yellowish beige head, soft and dryish character, somewhat yeasty, dried fruits, some roasted bitterness in the finish and in that sense another Scotch in disguise, as there are still many around in Belgium.
