COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This brown ale has a marked ruby brown colour with a generous and lasting head. It has a distinctive aroma reflecting the wide range of ingredients used in its production. The fruitiness resulting from its fermentation blends harmoniously with a dominant liquorice and caramel flavour. The body is decidedly malty. The bitterness is the result of a complex alchemy between the fine hops and special malts used. These give St Feuillien Brune a typical dark chocolate appearance.

Cloudy reddish-brown with a small pale head. Aroma is plums and brown sugar. Medium body, a little boozy with a slightly astringent finish. Taste is caramel, plums, raisins and a touch of bitter orange.

Bready nose with hints at alcohol and light hints of dark fruit. Nuttier flavors mildly come out in the mouth. Light hop near the end...hints at Earth...yum!

UPDATED: JUL 27, 2011 (Bottled). Dubbles/Brunes don’t captivate me much , so 3.5 in context is high
( the St Bernardus’ Dubbles are an exception because St Bernardus beers are sick! ). In its own goblet it looks like a stereotypical Belgain ... nice enough nose of yeast, raisin, caramel ..licorice and candy sugar. Sipin’ this its rich ,with sugars , strong malty caramel & roastiness accents ..a showcase of raisins ,licorice ,chocolate and an almost abrasive bitterness that clashes with the richness a bit. A silky yeastiness is visible through out this decent beer....

Clear red to copper color with fine head. Delicious Belgian beer with a classic delicious fruity taste, from the Belgian yeast.

The smell and taste aren’t really special in my opinion. I do like the dark brown color, specially when a deep dark red glare comes through.

Had at belgian cafe. Pour is dark dark brown. Litle head. Aroma of sweet fruity pomegranate and malts. Flavor is caramel, dark fruit. And some woody tone.
