COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This brown ale has a marked ruby brown colour with a generous and lasting head. It has a distinctive aroma reflecting the wide range of ingredients used in its production. The fruitiness resulting from its fermentation blends harmoniously with a dominant liquorice and caramel flavour. The body is decidedly malty. The bitterness is the result of a complex alchemy between the fine hops and special malts used. These give St Feuillien Brune a typical dark chocolate appearance.

Had at belgian cafe. Pour is dark dark brown. Litle head. Aroma of sweet fruity pomegranate and malts. Flavor is caramel, dark fruit. And some woody tone.

I like this brewery, but brune/abbey double isn’t my favorite style. Hence the low score. Do love the colour though!

Bottle 330ml. Masterpiece, great abbey aromas. Smells like bread, caramel, cherries, citrus, and alcohol. Taste is sweet, with bitter notes, and very long length. Palate is creamy, and full bodied. Reddish brown, with a frothy head.

So many Belgian browns lately. Hazy, brown, not a lot of head. Aroma kind of dirty of old straw. Taste feels a bit chalky and has some dark fruit and perhaps vegetable favors to it. Finish has some old cherries in it. Hides alcohol well.

Test vom 14.3.2005, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 10,11,8,7,14,9 - 9,20

On draft at Klooster. Cloudy brown pour with little head. Malt and fruit in aroma. Flavor of malt, dark fruits and caramel with a slight hint of liquorice.
