Ungstrup (11378), Frederiksberg, Denmark Oct 11, 2005 A hazy amber beer with a huge orange head. The aroam is sweet with strong notes of yeast, while the flavor is dusty (probably the hops), yeasty, combined with notes of berries. Earlier Rating: 8/27/2002 Total Score: 3.1 A dark red beer with a good head. It is very fruity in as well the aroma as the flavor - but it has a well rounded flavor. omhper (10728), Stockholm, Sweden Aug 5, 2003 Bottled. Nut brown, hazy. Aroma of banana and butterscotch. Malty , soft and rounded. Toffee finish with some bitterness. Wonderfully balanced. Earlier Rating: 8/5/2003 Total Score: 3.5 Bottled. Dark mahogany. Aroma of coffee and herbal spices. Sweet, soft and medium bodied. Notes of anise and yeast. Mature and rather complex, I guess this has been laying around for some time before I sampled it. Papsoe (10417), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jun 27, 2005 (Bottle 33 cl) Pretty dark brown beer with a nice, brownish head. Yeasty nose, flavours of dried fruits, caramel and brown sugar. Very roasted malts. Very refined perfumyness - I reckon there might be some coriander thrown in here. An archetypical and excellent Dubbel. 140398 Oakes (6979), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Jul 11, 2003 Burgundy hue. Aroma of plums, raisins, brown sugar, pears. A little bit of astringency in those dark malts. Burnt fruit, hint of florals…not bad dubbel. yespr (6889), Copenhagen O, Denmark Apr 6, 2008 75 cL bottle. Pours dark amber to brown with a huge lasting tan head. Aroma is a mix of caramel malt, light spice note and subdued yeasty. Fruity and spiced initial flavour, presumeably from the yeast. Gains some darker notes like liqourice, roasted malt, spices and smooth, yet subdued, chocolate. Light alcohol note in the finish nicely lifting the mild spice and caramel malt flavours. Nice brew.
