COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This brown ale has a marked ruby brown colour with a generous and lasting head. It has a distinctive aroma reflecting the wide range of ingredients used in its production. The fruitiness resulting from its fermentation blends harmoniously with a dominant liquorice and caramel flavour. The body is decidedly malty. The bitterness is the result of a complex alchemy between the fine hops and special malts used. These give St Feuillien Brune a typical dark chocolate appearance.

Pours a deep brown with a very thick tan head which leaves a lot of lacing on the glass. Aroma is sweet with biscuit and yeast. Also some nice hovering hints of anise seed. Taste is sweet of caramel and toffee. Licorice and slight metal notes comes through on the finish. Full bodied with lots of carbonation. Starts of feeling a bit chewy but ends up with a nice dryness. Overall a nice dubbel but I’ve certainly had better. I was surprised at how drinkable it was for the slightly higher ABV.

Brown color with brown head. Malt and very herbal in the nose. Taste is bit of dark malts, spices, bit peppery, anice. Smooth soft MF, round, bitter sweet finish. Not my type of brown but definitely Okey beer.

330 ml bottle. Reddish brown with off white. Aroma faint, light alcohol, malt and sugar. Taste is sweet yet balanced, sugar, almost no bitterness with some alcohol in the finish

Brown with cosistent rich yellow cap. Sour carbonatd on the tongue tip, becoming nicely mixed of sourness, some bitterness and some sweetness towards the root, where some bitterness remains.

Muted, malty aroma. The flavor is mainly Belgian candi sugar with light strawberry and lots of toasty bitterness. Palate is rich and heavy. Recommended if you like your dubbels strong and bitter.

Dark brown light hazy in colour with a medium lasting dark white head. On the nose aromas of dark fruit, toffee and malts develop. The texture is light lively with a full body and fruity flavours enveloped by a faint hop bitterness. The finish is lasting and light chewy.

Bottle from the Bierschuur in Poppel. The beer has a ruby brown color and a large cream colored head, with a lot of bubbles. The aroma is fruity from the dark fruits. Also a hint of caramel, roasted malts and a little alcohol. The taste is fruity and also a little sweet from the liquorice and caramel. Also a light bitter is noticable from the roasted malts. The finish is warm and light bitter and is long.
