Also sold as ’St Feuillien Spéciale’ in the USA. This beer has a generous head - compact and firm. Its slightly brown colour is the result of the roasted barley. It has a dark ruby brown colour and a very intense aroma. The aromatic herbs and spices used greatly enhance its delicious smell. This beer is full-bodied with a smoothness that is the result of the synergy of caramelized malts, carefully controlled fermentation and long cold storage. St Feuillien Cuvée de Noël has a very subtle bitterness that is the dominant flavour in this harmonious ale that strikes a perfect balance between all the different ingredients.

Ruby crown, clear, emitting a fireside warmth, large foamy beige head; aroma is sticky sweet malts; taste is malty, both toffeeish and sweet yet toasty too; the Christmas spices are present but subtle; the alcohol gives it a lovely warmth; slightly bitter with a clear dry finish; really good festive fare.

750 mL bottle shared at a tasting on December 15. The pour is a pretty clear ruby-ish brown. The white head foams up and settled down to a cap of about a finger and a half. The lacing that’s left on this is also pretty intense. The aroma picks up a few subtle different things, but nothing that is especially great. It’s got some dark fruits, some light spice, maybe a bit of caramel, and some spiciness to accompany the typical Belgian yeast. There is a pretty bready and malty taste, just like I’d expect. I’ve tried a few, but it seems that the Belgians just aren’t my thing in this type of configuration
