2012 edition. Very big thick foamy head, it takes a while until it settles down a little bit. Very nice red colour. Beer is kind of sweet but I like it this way. Pretty strong but you cannot really taste the alcohol.

2011 Bottle... Poured deep brown/reddish with a moderate khaki head. This rounded out nicely. Nose had a faint licorice tone with dark fruits. Tasted of figs and prunes with some malt sweetness up front. Seemed like it would turn boozy or cloying, but it dried out and finished clean and balanced.

Bottle from Asahiya. Sharp, tangy fruity aroma. Dark brown color wtih small head. Very sweet initial; in mid the bitterness kicks in, along with yeast and some spice; finishes with a sort of powdered sugar sweetness. Medium body. Very pleasant. Not outrageously sweet. I like the lip-smacking tang.
