COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Also sold as ’St Feuillien Spéciale’ in the USA. This beer has a generous head - compact and firm. Its slightly brown colour is the result of the roasted barley. It has a dark ruby brown colour and a very intense aroma. The aromatic herbs and spices used greatly enhance its delicious smell. This beer is full-bodied with a smoothness that is the result of the synergy of caramelized malts, carefully controlled fermentation and long cold storage. St Feuillien Cuvée de Noël has a very subtle bitterness that is the dominant flavour in this harmonious ale that strikes a perfect balance between all the different ingredients.

Bottle from a shop in Germany. Fruity smell with liqourice. Similar taste. Im not that fond of the liqourice but I reckon that others that do like it wil enjoy this beer.

Bottle from Cornelius. Hazy ruby body with a medium beige head that holds well. Lively carbonation. Light lacing. Aroma of spices, burnt toast, stewed apple and strawberry syrup. Flavour of wood, red fruits and a hint of liquorice. Medium body with a powdery texture. Light fizz. Very easy drinking for the strength.

Medium-light bitterness. Dry, crisp finish. Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. High carbonation Overall: Very nice, but the licorice tends to be the prominent flavour. 330 ml bottle, poured. Dark reddy brown body with a frothy tan head - very lively at first. Aroma of malt, brown sugar and sherry trifle. Good body, though no more than medium. Flavours include cherry, mulled wine, sugar and darker malts. Good, bit too sweet maybe.

330ml bottle, poured into La Chouffe tulip. A: Dark ruby, bronzy in colour, looked thick without being opaque, medium slightly tanned head, pretty good head retention. S: Cherry, molasses. T: Fig, prune, brown sugar, some cherry which faded before any sourness could kick in, something made me think of mouse. Kept the booze under wraps. M: Light texture, moderate carbonation. O: Good beer to accompany a heavy meal on a cold day, does what its supposed to.
