Also sold as ’St Feuillien Spéciale’ in the USA. This beer has a generous head - compact and firm. Its slightly brown colour is the result of the roasted barley. It has a dark ruby brown colour and a very intense aroma. The aromatic herbs and spices used greatly enhance its delicious smell. This beer is full-bodied with a smoothness that is the result of the synergy of caramelized malts, carefully controlled fermentation and long cold storage. St Feuillien Cuvée de Noël has a very subtle bitterness that is the dominant flavour in this harmonious ale that strikes a perfect balance between all the different ingredients.

Aroma: sugar syrup, caramel, cough syrup, spices. Appearance: clear, dark amber, massive, frothy, beige head. Taste: medium sweet. Palate: massive carbonation, cough syrup again, very intense caramel malt, alcohol. Overall: almost tastes like medicine, too intense, too fizzy. Bottle from Beers of Europe, Kings Lynn.

Brown-reddish colour, with huge head that leaves a good lace and crown. Smell of dark fruits, spices, nutmeg licorice, cinnamon and almonds. Medium body, good carbonation. Taste is similar to the smell: spices, licorice, almonds, dark fruits.

Thick generous head, dark ruby appearance, allows some light in. Aroma is spice, warm esters and dark fruits, some hop. Flavor is immediately nice and effervescent, clean bitter, and lingering licorice. Really nice treat this time of year.

On tap at Macgregor’s. Poured a brownish/orange beer. Alive with bubbles. Large creamy head. Caramel and spices with red fruit in the aroma. Sweet taste balanced with a good bitterness. Soft carbonation, warm bittersweet finish. A warming beer like all Christmas beers should be. The ABV is hidden well.
