Also sold as ’St Feuillien Spéciale’ in the USA. This beer has a generous head - compact and firm. Its slightly brown colour is the result of the roasted barley. It has a dark ruby brown colour and a very intense aroma. The aromatic herbs and spices used greatly enhance its delicious smell. This beer is full-bodied with a smoothness that is the result of the synergy of caramelized malts, carefully controlled fermentation and long cold storage. St Feuillien Cuvée de Noël has a very subtle bitterness that is the dominant flavour in this harmonious ale that strikes a perfect balance between all the different ingredients.

Roodbruine kleur, veel kraag en veel koolzuur. Ruikt moutig, maar ook naar roodfruit, snoep. Smaakt naar...... Ik weet het niet..... Maar wel goed te drinken. Aroma is complexer dan de smaak.

0.33 l bottle from Alko. Great head and copper brown colour. Not as dark as I expected. Taste resembles toffee with a hint of bitterness. Interesting, this is different than most of the winter or chrismas beers or ales. I’m glad this is in a small bottle, since the 9% of alcohol might be too much unless your are having a company.

33 cl, bottled. Pours ruby with a fine beige head. Aroma: Leather, veriohukainen (blood, maybe iron with malt, interesting.). Taste: Some sour notes, pleasantly bitter. Quite sweet as well as expected. Palate: Near medium body, noticeable carbonation. Quite bitter aftertaste with some sweetness. Interesting and pleasant. The body could’ve been fuller. Anyway pretty nice one.

Had in a flute glass at MacGregor’s. Dark orange, hazy, murky. Funky sour nose with a bit of spice and dark fruit. Much dark fruit in the palate. Hidden alcohol. Sticky thick syrupy mouthfeel. Excellent.

Nice creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly fruity, caramel malts, dried fruits, almonds, grass, flowers, alcohol. Taste is kind of harsh and metallic, caramel malts, alcohol, almond essence, grass, hay, dried fruits. Medium bitterness, high carbonation. Not even close to as good as I remember it many years ago with a several year old bottle.

Semi-strong a bit sour aroma with sweet raisin. Clear semi-light copper appearance with light head. Strong taste has caramel, raisin, malts and some hoppyness. Wide taste spectrum. A bit sterile taste (although not as sterile as Chimay Blue) transforms more organic on quite long aftertaste. Light palate with strong carbonation.

Appearance is really beautiful, the color of dark ruby with a big, rocky head. Aroma has strong dark fruitiness, sweet maltiness and spiciness; plum, pear, some caramel. Taste is medium to heavy sweet; maltiness and fruitiness are rich with Belgian yeast adding spicy elements. Hoppiness is mild to moderate, balancing a bit. Dried fruitiness and spices feature most. Spiciness is moderate, not over-the-top. Palate is medium to full bodied, quite smooth despite the carbonation being a bit lively. Nice sweet and attractive Christmas beer.
