This beer had a pleasant appearance. It was a very carbonated beer that tasted great. This was the first beer I tried that was corked.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Powerful sweet, spicy aroma with hints of prunes, banana and nutmeg. Brown/red colour with a quite long-lasting light brown foam and a lot of carbonation. Nice flavour a little on the dry side, where sweet roasted malts dominate the flavour. Nice filling mouth feel but aftertaste is not overly long. A very nice beer though...

330ml bottle from Vinmonopolet. Big frothy tan head which turns into lots of bigger bubbles before it quickly flattens out. Dark brown/amber body, low transparency. Aroma is sharp in the nose. Iron, dark fruits, wood. Sweet malt hits the tongue first. Some alcohol taste. Creamy texture, excellent palate. Best served at higher temperatures.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
From bottle. Red amber clear body with a fluffy lasting broken white head. Clove, orange peel, and caramel in the nose. Roasted malts as first approach in the mouth, then moving to spiced plum and figs. A slight bitter finish enhances the flavors. Medium carbonation with a well balanced and smooth body makes it a nice winter beer, together with a little alcoholic touch. A good Xmas beer.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
A dark reddish-brown ale this has an excellent head that’s smooth and undetourable, it’s soft and pillowy-like you could fall into it. A sweet smell of alcohol is reminiscent of a Belgian triple or quadruple. Sweet and candy-like, but still with a good balance of bitter hops. It’s refreshing and crisp, then it’s warming. The mouthfeel is very smooth and heady. I really enjoyed this ale.

Pour is a fine hazy copper with a nice compact tan head. The nose is hops, spices, dark fruit all balanced very well. The flavor is of sweet dried fruits and butterscotch. A very well balanced seasonal brew.
