COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Also sold as ’St Feuillien Spéciale’ in the USA. This beer has a generous head - compact and firm. Its slightly brown colour is the result of the roasted barley. It has a dark ruby brown colour and a very intense aroma. The aromatic herbs and spices used greatly enhance its delicious smell. This beer is full-bodied with a smoothness that is the result of the synergy of caramelized malts, carefully controlled fermentation and long cold storage. St Feuillien Cuvée de Noël has a very subtle bitterness that is the dominant flavour in this harmonious ale that strikes a perfect balance between all the different ingredients.

Bottle, pours dark brown with a creamy off-white almost lightbrown head. Nice malty and caramelly aroma. Flavour is nice and bready with a faint soury and spicy finish. A well composed yet complex beer.

Ruby red, a very belgian aroma of dried fruits. The taste is fruity, malty and spicy. Warms ones heart during cold times, a very xmasy beer, maybe the best seasonal beer that I have had in terms of capturing the spirit of season. Don’t be a grinch, have a go at this if you haven’t tried.

Pas exceptionnelle.... Gout réglissé, trop alcoolisé... Manque de caractère...

Dark fruit flavor with a strange spice taste. Not an easy beer to swallow with its unique bite. Definitely not my favorite mix of malts and fruits in a beverage...

2013.12 - met dank aan Klaas - bruinrood bier, schuim was bij ’tasting’ reeds verdwenen - zowel neus als mond : zoete porto.

2012.02.27 - 750ml bottle in a tulip glass. St. Feuillien Speciale. Pours dark ruby brown, similar in color to but slightly darker/more opaque than Newcastle Brown Ale. Active foamy head dissipates but leaves full cap and lacing for the duration. Aroma is lovely to my nose, a distant dull approximation to the taste itself. Taste is a dryness mixed with a spiciness. Not sure of the source of this taste but similar to (IMO) Affligem Noel and Unibroue Trois Pistoles. A lovely taste. An initial faux alcohol bite on the tongue recedes quickly leaving a spicy aftertaste which lingers and beckons you to drink more. Mouthfeel is fairly light for the beer, the head is pretty foamy. No complaints here, I’ll be buying more of this.

This Belgian poured a rich burgundy, with a nice thick, creamy head. Aroma is sweet and spicy. Rich flavour, bursts in your mouth, and tickles the palate. I'd make a special trip to Belgium, just for this beer.

bottle. ruby color with a small head. nice spicy aromas of cloves and oranges with a touch of alcohol and sugar. spicy goodness up front with nice sweet candi sugar in the back balanced nicely with lightly roasted malt and burnt chocolate giving it a medium mouthfeel and a hint of bitterness, good stuff.
