Also sold as ’St Feuillien Spéciale’ in the USA. This beer has a generous head - compact and firm. Its slightly brown colour is the result of the roasted barley. It has a dark ruby brown colour and a very intense aroma. The aromatic herbs and spices used greatly enhance its delicious smell. This beer is full-bodied with a smoothness that is the result of the synergy of caramelized malts, carefully controlled fermentation and long cold storage. St Feuillien Cuvée de Noël has a very subtle bitterness that is the dominant flavour in this harmonious ale that strikes a perfect balance between all the different ingredients.

Bottle 0.33l. Thick chestnut cloudy liquid with soft yellow foam. Full body, soft carbonation. Smell of wine, taste like fruit juice. Apricot, melon, honey. Rich and very tasty.

Pours a clear dark copper color with a tan color head. Aroma of roasted malts, dark fruits like plums and apples and brown sugars. Flavors of roasted malts, caramels, cinnamon, and spices with a hint of walnuts. Good carbonation with a little sweet bitterness and a little granny texture ending. A warm brew and quite complex and enjoyable winter beer.

08/03 on the cork: A hazy, light brown color with a red hue and a dense, tan head that is persistent. Aroma is heavy on milk chocolate and dark cherry. I smell no herbs or spices as suggested by the commercial description. Flavor is quite straightforward but very pleasant and shows an interesting profile. It starts very creamy and chocolatey, then acidity kicks in though mild, then the creamy chocolate along with cork kicks back in, and then a smack of bitterness breaks the palate again, then the butter, bubblegum, dark cherry, big sweetness, and chocolate lead into a velvety, lush finish. I remember this two years ago and it tasted like nothing but bubblegum and dark malt. This has improved considerably.

RE_RATE PENDING ****** Though I’m quite fond of their blond and tripel, i’ve found this Cuvée, on tap, quite useless. Weak aroma, little taste but strong bodied and ethilic. Since i trust who served me, I wait to sample bottled version.

Yeast aroma. Very balanced, mellow, woody flavors with some spice. Roastiness somewhere in there. Herbal finish.

Muddy brown color – sharp quickly dissipating white head - tons of sediment - nose of orange , cherry / chocolate , and yeast - taste of sour red fruits ( cherries , and raspberries ) , oranges , malt , brown sugar , and acidic - medium body - aftertaste of sour acidic red fruit , malts and brown sugar

0.33 l bottle from Alko. Great head and copper brown colour. Not as dark as I expected. Taste resembles toffee with a hint of bitterness. Interesting, this is different than most of the winter or chrismas beers or ales. I’m glad this is in a small bottle, since the 9% of alcohol might be too much unless your are having a company.

Dark reddy brown body with a frothy tan head - very lively at first. Aroma of malt, brown sugar and sherry trifle. Good body, though no more than medium. Flavours include cherry, mulled wine, sugar and darker malts. Good, bit too sweet maybe.

on tap - mcmenamin’s (philadelphia) - pours a ruby brown. aroma was not very pleasant- spices and sweaty feet (not good sweaty feet like some cheeses). Flavor was thin, mild, and slightly unpleasant. Not a favorite.
