(750ml bottle) Sampled at TiggMTL’s Montreal Crew YEHa!05 Christmas Party on December 17, 2005. Nose of green pears. Thin beige head with deep orange body. Perfect balance or malt and yeast though a very tart finish.

Cloudy amber pour with a thin white head. Appealing aroma of fruits, caramel and yeast. Good flavor of fruits, caramel, spices and yeast with a sweet finish, feels a bit like a cake. The body is light with a dry and dusty mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. Good stuff, merci David !

On tap at Delirium Café, May 2005. Lightly hazy brown ale with a thin off-white head. Light caramel aroma and fruity aroma. Caramel comes out in mouth too, with notes of coriander, and a smooth creamy body. A bit lighter than expected. 7-3-7-3-13

Bottle at Yehaa Montreal 2005, Dec. 17, 2005. Caramel in aroma again, with definite pears in aroma. Spices are more pungeant in mouth with floral hops, and sweet malt. Smooth and pleasant. Excellent. 8-4-8-3-14

The Lure:
Pears and cherries flourish amidst the chocolatey yeast. Flowery sweets titillate, what most St.Feuillien beers are able to do, but this one does not distinguish itself from their other dark strongs.

The Festivities:
Spicy coriander and flower petals proliferate atop the dark malt sweetness. Some rusty dryness appears in the end within the portly bubbling. A quite drinkable dubbel, with veiled fruit cake allusions. Probably a small variation on an already existing St.Feuillien brew.

Transcendence:
Watching children run about in a treasure hunt.

750 ml bottle, corked champagne-style. Bought in Denmark. Very large and lasting cream-coloured head, beer is hazy brown with a reddish hue. Very strong and "raw" aroma of barnyard, ensilage, ammonia, leather and fermenting fruits, mellows gradually in the glass. Flavour is a bit smoother and mellower than the aroma - chocolate sweetness, some oak and spices, moderate but decent hops. Mouthfeel becomes strangely metallic and watery (for a 7.5% beer, that is) in the finish. Some liquorice in the aftertaste. An interesting beer after all.

Bottle. Brown with an impressive lasting head. Very yeasty aromas of malt and plums. In the mouth there is notes of milk chocolate and a slight acidity. Very sweet - gets a bit cloying in the long run. An OK dubble, but far from the usual standards of St Feuillien.

NosirIwont (1721) - Aalborg Vestby, DENMARK - MAY 22, 2005
Bottle. Nice reddish/chestnut brown colour with a thick off-white head. Stingy, yeasty, metallic aroma with notes of... wet dog?! This fortunately disappears as it warms, and gives way for alcohol and faint notes of chocolate. Sweetish, malty flavour with caramel and alcohol. Quite (dry) metallic. Finish is flowery and a bit sour.
