Grand Cru is a speciality beer carefully crafted by Belgium’s St Feuillien Brewery. This extra-blond amber nectar masterpiece undergoes refermentation in the bottle, resulting in a beer endowed with unforgettable character. The secret lies in the unique combination of the most noble hops and the finest aromatic ingredients. Grand Cru differs from other beers in the range by its absence of spices. Its full, white head is light and frothy, and when poured it creates a subtle lace effect. The very pale colour of Grand Cru lends clarity and brilliance to its body.
Grand Cru’s delicate nose is a veritable cascade of hoppy aromas with hints of fruitiness coupled with subtlety and sheer richness.
When savoured, the first sip is light and intriguing. The next impression is one of a slight bitterness full of captivating nuances. When it hits the palate, Grand Cru creates a lingering moment of hoppiness, rounded off by an intense yet pleasant bitterness.

Bottle 0.75L. Hazy, deep golden body with a huge, frothy, off-white head, mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate malty (bread) and hoppy (citrus) aroma with heavy notes of spices and some fruits. Moderate-to-heavy sweet and moderate bitter flavour. Medium body with oily texture; soft carbonation.

fles 33cl kleur: goud, helder, mooie schuimkraag geur: mout en iets zoet/fruitigs. Smaak daarentegen is helemaal niet zoet, vooral zachtbitter. Flinke dosis alcohol

Delft 11-10-2015 St. Feuillien Grand Cru.

For starters, it has aromas of fruitiness simply pure. The first taste has a slight bitterness but holds you as the hops gave away and the beer goes to full balance. Incredible.

33cl bottle@home in Trappist glass@approx 10 degrees C. Pours clear golden yellow with frothy white head with good retention, clotting as it wears off. Belgian aroma of malt, European hops and yeast with a subtle spice and herbality. Clean, malty, very well balanced taste without any "funny stuff"...just clean malt, herbs, bitterness and sweetness (perhaps a touch too much). Aftertaste of BEER - malt and hops, bitternes, sweetness, grass, bread, bitterness. It is all there in well measured amounts. Good mouthfeel and warmth very present from the high ABV. I like this beer more and more as I slowly finish it. It is a well balanced, no nonsese strong Belgian Ale.
