COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Grand Cru is a speciality beer carefully crafted by Belgium’s St Feuillien Brewery. This extra-blond amber nectar masterpiece undergoes refermentation in the bottle, resulting in a beer endowed with unforgettable character. The secret lies in the unique combination of the most noble hops and the finest aromatic ingredients. Grand Cru differs from other beers in the range by its absence of spices. Its full, white head is light and frothy, and when poured it creates a subtle lace effect. The very pale colour of Grand Cru lends clarity and brilliance to its body.
Grand Cru’s delicate nose is a veritable cascade of hoppy aromas with hints of fruitiness coupled with subtlety and sheer richness.
When savoured, the first sip is light and intriguing. The next impression is one of a slight bitterness full of captivating nuances. When it hits the palate, Grand Cru creates a lingering moment of hoppiness, rounded off by an intense yet pleasant bitterness.

Bottle, 33cL. Home. A pale golden opaque beer with a big creamy white head ; medium retention. Fruity aroma (citrus, orange), biscuit, alcohol, herbs, dried fruits. Medium sugary sweet with light lasting bitter. Medium body, silky texture, good carbonation, light sweet finish. Overall, a good fruity yeasty beer. Just enough to be cradled...

Bottle. Pours a hazy yellow color with a huge foamy white head. Aroma is hoppy and fruity. Taste is of light fruits - like grapes and light citrus, hops, malt, yeast and alcohol. Both sweet and sour with a bitter boozy finish. Surprising full body and lively carbonation. It is what it is - a Belgian Strong Ale. Not bad but this one doesn’t really do it for me.

Bottle from private import. Aroma: cereal, some fruits and typical belgian yeast. App: pale, hazy, thick and frothy head. Taste and palate: lightly bitter dry finish, medium to almost full body, fizzy carbonation. Overall: Great Belgian strong ale with a really nice head. Easy to drink even with its 9.5% ABV. I Like the light bitterness finish since it’s not that common on Belgian Strong Ale.

Catching up on ratings. Bottle to glass. Clear and light golden. Aroma was fruity and sour. Taste was blah. Not sure if it was a bad bottle or what. The guy at the store in Germany recommended this as a good replacement for the Cantillon version. I disagree.

33 cl snifter. Pours an abudant white frothy head, bright golden colour and slighlty cloudy. Smell is intense and aromatic, very yeasty, cereals, dough, bit cheesy. Tastes bready, earthy, very yeasty again, bit of alcohol; more than medium sweetness, followed by a low to medium, quite strange, funky, bitterness, which then disappears leaving a very clean and dry palate. Average carbonation, medium bodied. Was a bit surprised on how changed from the first to the last sip (apart from the temperature of the liquid raising), didn’t get completely this beer character at the beginning. Quite drinkable for the abv, bit wierd bitter notes in my opinion, liked very much the cleanness of the palate at the end

Excellente, proche Karmelite.

Not very promising when probed with the nose. Very enjoyable mouthful. One can taste the 9.5. Some citrus aftertaste. On the sweet end of the tongue.
