COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Grand Cru is a speciality beer carefully crafted by Belgium’s St Feuillien Brewery. This extra-blond amber nectar masterpiece undergoes refermentation in the bottle, resulting in a beer endowed with unforgettable character. The secret lies in the unique combination of the most noble hops and the finest aromatic ingredients. Grand Cru differs from other beers in the range by its absence of spices. Its full, white head is light and frothy, and when poured it creates a subtle lace effect. The very pale colour of Grand Cru lends clarity and brilliance to its body.
Grand Cru’s delicate nose is a veritable cascade of hoppy aromas with hints of fruitiness coupled with subtlety and sheer richness.
When savoured, the first sip is light and intriguing. The next impression is one of a slight bitterness full of captivating nuances. When it hits the palate, Grand Cru creates a lingering moment of hoppiness, rounded off by an intense yet pleasant bitterness.

Eye: pours a murky hay color with a medium white but quickly dissipating head. Nose: ripe banana, sweet dough, caramel, vanilla, and hints of tangerine and fir needle Mouth: a bit metallic, toffee malts Palate: roasted nuts, herbal to floral hops, sweet to salty licorice Overall: decent to nice Belgium beer but by far not my favorite. Taste can’t keep up with the scent

33cl bottle at home (28 XI 2015). A bit pale, clear yellow, even golden beer with huge white, vivid and vast foam. Nicely hopped Belgian strong blonde with medium carbonation. The new bottles say "dry hopping" - only to cover its lovely bitter character? The brew has a beautiful body, with a medium spirit feeling and very archetype Belgian yeast and malts. The mouthfeel is rich, yet not that complex. This is a good bitter-malt strong ale for sure. A pleasant drinker. Yet I’m afraid it is a bit hidden between Haacht Keizer Karel, Vander Ghinste Omer and other strong regional chains which are better commercialised.

33cl bottle at home. Pours a clear golden colour with a white head. Aroma of yeast, malts, bread, banana, pineapple and hops. Taste is bitter with notes of fruity hops, apple, raisins. Bittersweet finish, oily texture with high xarbonation

Drank with Rik at my place 18-11-2015. Lots of carbonation on the beer, almost a gusher. Taste like a tripel, but with a little more complexity and subtler body.
