Grand Cru is a speciality beer carefully crafted by Belgium’s St Feuillien Brewery. This extra-blond amber nectar masterpiece undergoes refermentation in the bottle, resulting in a beer endowed with unforgettable character. The secret lies in the unique combination of the most noble hops and the finest aromatic ingredients. Grand Cru differs from other beers in the range by its absence of spices. Its full, white head is light and frothy, and when poured it creates a subtle lace effect. The very pale colour of Grand Cru lends clarity and brilliance to its body.
Grand Cru’s delicate nose is a veritable cascade of hoppy aromas with hints of fruitiness coupled with subtlety and sheer richness.
When savoured, the first sip is light and intriguing. The next impression is one of a slight bitterness full of captivating nuances. When it hits the palate, Grand Cru creates a lingering moment of hoppiness, rounded off by an intense yet pleasant bitterness.

11.2oz bottle (29/12/2012) - pours gold with white head. Nose is grain, floral, and yeast galore. Sip adds booze, sugar and more grain. If it weren’t for the yeast, I’d think this is malt liquor. A little spice (pepper?) in the finish. So much for the absence of spice. Out of nowhere my three year old declares that this beer is stinky and she is sitting three feet from me. She requested a closer sniff and is going on and on about how stinky that was.

A very nice strong Belgian beer. Light appearance, but with a forceful malt and spice character. Some subtle lemon, but more pepper.

Poured golden hue with a creamy white head. Smelled of coriander and orange peel. Tasted of coriander and hints of licorice. Had a bit of an alcohol bite that was off-putting.

UPDATED: OCT 18, 2014 Random Anthee grocery store bottle during Dinant trip. Oddly smelled like a lager when opened. Nice clear gold color with a foamy white head. Flavor is light, sweet and spicy. Falls off in the finish with some lingering bitterness and alcohol bite. The 9.5 ABV is apparent. Okay

First taste is very pleasant, a little bitter. It smells really nice too and has a great golden color. I’m new to rating beers so I have a lack of vocabulary but the important thing is that it’s a great beer you need to try. The latest sips felt a little more bitter, which was really nice so that the taste lasts a little after you finished drinking. It deserves its 16/20.

Shared a 33cl bottle from Delheize. Pours a light yellow with a white, thick and persistent head. Aroma is hoppy and fruity. Medium carbonation and medium body. Flavour complex with a mix of bitter and sweet. Bitter and dry aftertaste. Very good!
