3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Jabic (298) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - MAR 10, 2012
Ar: Grassy, pears, and orange rind - spicy pepper.
Ap: Straw gold, clear - large white head with good retention, fine bubbles, and a thick ring of lacing.
T: Very fruity up front, lots of orange and a bit of pear - mixture of black pepper, hay, and spicy hops - minerally and fairly bitter and hoppy.
P: Medium-light body with high carbonation - very dry finish.
O: Really digestible beer - strong, fruity, and with a complex mixture of mineral and hop flavors - has a rustic and somewhat austere quality to it.

Slightly cloudy yellow pour with a thick white head. The aroma is yeasty and fruity with a touch of noble hops. Good flavor of yeast, fruits and hops with a gentle bitter finish and lingering dryness. The body is light to medium with a vinous texture and medium carbonation. Interesting, but not a favorite from this brewery.

Clear golden yellow with a decent sized off-white head. Aroma of bubblegum, banana, white wine, grass and citrus. The taste is slightly sweet and yeasty and a bit metallic with a strange, somewhat unpleasant bitterness. It’s medium-full bodied, a touch oily, and a little bubbly with a bitter finish.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 DruncanVeasey (6116) - NUNEATON, Blue Square Premier, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - MAR 5, 2012
330ml, chilled. Lager-gold streaming beneath a piled, bleached mousse of foam. Bright, citrus-zested scent with fine hop notes suggesting G+T, wine gums, mosquito repellent and urinal over a slight farmyard yeastiness and clean, crisp pale malts. The flavour is pretty much perfect; fresh, zesty, botanical... suggestive of white peppered marmalade, lemon and lime jelly. Duvelesque without the fizz, cardboard and alcohol. Stunning, actually- I’m tempted to award a 10 but that would be to acknowledge perfection, and the end of the adventure. Finishes with a warm, affectionate smack of juicy hop bitterness to counter the perfume and mellow heat. Superbly balanced, zesty tripel drinking insanely like a golden ale half the strength. 4.3 is harsh. Would love to re-rate from a bigger bottle to see how the freshness of flavour on display here translates. Exceptional.
