COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Grand Cru is a speciality beer carefully crafted by Belgium’s St Feuillien Brewery. This extra-blond amber nectar masterpiece undergoes refermentation in the bottle, resulting in a beer endowed with unforgettable character. The secret lies in the unique combination of the most noble hops and the finest aromatic ingredients. Grand Cru differs from other beers in the range by its absence of spices. Its full, white head is light and frothy, and when poured it creates a subtle lace effect. The very pale colour of Grand Cru lends clarity and brilliance to its body.
Grand Cru’s delicate nose is a veritable cascade of hoppy aromas with hints of fruitiness coupled with subtlety and sheer richness.
When savoured, the first sip is light and intriguing. The next impression is one of a slight bitterness full of captivating nuances. When it hits the palate, Grand Cru creates a lingering moment of hoppiness, rounded off by an intense yet pleasant bitterness.

0.33l bottle. This is a soft blurry straw-yellow one with a nice big fluffy just off-white big foamy top. It smells light Belgian with a nice candy sweetness and Belgian yeast. Actually a bit "Champagne-ish" in a way also. The taste is also classic Belgian blonde. It’s lively on the carbonation and it has a oily mouthfeel. Some warming alcohol, Belgian yeast, dried flowers and hops with traces of candy and straws. As classic Belgian as they get in my opinion. Nice warming aftertaste. Pretty much like drinking a Duvel lookalike. Tasty! 22.10.2012

330ml bottle. Clear golden colour with average, frothy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Fruity and hoppy aroma has decent notes of pineapple, honeydew melon, some yeast. Taste is minimally spicy yeasty, bitter hoppy, subtle hints of pineapple and honeydew melon; effervescent carbonation.

Bottle@home, 33 cl. Head: delicate white foam. Colour: clear, yellow golden. Aroma: hops, yeast. Taste: yeast, bitter. Palate: mild, medium body. Overall: every beer from St. Feuillien has the same basic taste. IMHO not my taste.

33 cl bottle kindly shared by Sigmund. ABV is 9,5%. Hazy hay golden body with a three fingers thick fluffy off-white head leaving fair lacing. Wooden cupboard, sugar and whiffs of spicy Belgian ale yeast and glandular notes on the nose. Heavy sweet, dry, alco warm, spicy, bitter mouth. Overcarbonated and full bodied. Still it feels thin in the mouth

330 ml bottle, from Voldby Købmandsgård. ABV is 9.5%. Hazy pale golden colour, huge white head. Moderate spicy and slghtly yeasty aroma. Plenty of carbonation in the mouth (a little less would still be enough). Spicy and crisp flavour, fairly dry for a Belgian ale this strong, decent hops.

330 ml bottle into signature chalice, best before 11/21/2013. Pours a slightly hazy golden amber color with a nice 1-2 finger dense and fluffy white head with great retention, that reduces to small cap that lasts. Spotty foamy lacing on the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big lemon zest, apple, pear, pepper, clove, light bread, grass, floral earthiness, and yeast spiciness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity and spicy esters. Taste of big lemon, pear, apple, apricot, pepper, clove, bread, honey, grass, candi sugar, floral, earth, and yeast spiciness. Lingering notes of light fruits, clove, pepper, bread, floral, grass, honey, earth, and yeast spiciness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice balance and complexity of fruity and spicy esters; with zero cloying flavors present after the finish. Medium-high carbonation and medium bodied; with a fairly slick, crisp, and prickly mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with only a moderate warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent Belgian strong pale ale. Very nice balance and complexity of fruity and spicy esters; and quite smooth to sip on. A very enjoyable offering.
