Grand Cru is a speciality beer carefully crafted by Belgium’s St Feuillien Brewery. This extra-blond amber nectar masterpiece undergoes refermentation in the bottle, resulting in a beer endowed with unforgettable character. The secret lies in the unique combination of the most noble hops and the finest aromatic ingredients. Grand Cru differs from other beers in the range by its absence of spices. Its full, white head is light and frothy, and when poured it creates a subtle lace effect. The very pale colour of Grand Cru lends clarity and brilliance to its body.
Grand Cru’s delicate nose is a veritable cascade of hoppy aromas with hints of fruitiness coupled with subtlety and sheer richness.
When savoured, the first sip is light and intriguing. The next impression is one of a slight bitterness full of captivating nuances. When it hits the palate, Grand Cru creates a lingering moment of hoppiness, rounded off by an intense yet pleasant bitterness.

2013-02-08. Crisp bright yellow body with a large foamy white head. 3++ Aroma is lightly alcoholic, pale malt. Flavour is relatively alcoholic, sweetish pale malt core, mild bitterness grows in the finish amplified by the alcohol. Average plus bodied palate, effervescent carbonation suits it. Pretty decent take on the style, alcoholic shows itself just a touch more than I would like even if it is suitable for the style. Bottle from the LCBO, Toronto

Fruity and yeasty smell. Hop. Similar taste, dry and bitter with a slightly harsh mouthfeel. A bit like sparkled wine.

Pours a cloudy yellow. Smells fruity, yeasty, and herby. Tastes of citrus, sweet fruitiness with a spicy aftertaste that lingers. A nice complex flavor.

Fruitée, agrumes, légère amertume, bon retour en bouche. Une classique belge, à juste titre.

Light orange body with lots of foamy white head, big bubbles. A blast of sweet grape and spritzy tang on the aroma, candy. Taste is sweet and yeasty, fruit, candy, a touch of acidic bitterness in the end. Overall a really nice belgian strong ale.

Lasting frothy white head atop a cloudy gold body. Nose of lemon citrus, mellow Belgian yeast. Flavour is surprisingly more spiced then the aroma, some smooth vanilla and yeasty finish. Nice.

330 ml bottle, cellar aged approx. 1.5 years. Fruity, lightly winey aroma, some floral touches and honey along with suggestions of alcohol, doughy yeast, golden raisin, slight phenols and pale malt in the background. Lightly hazy medium golden color with a slight, fading head. Flavor profile is gently sweet, honeyish, herbal and moderately bitter, some bread crust, white grape and dried flowers here, and finishing with a touch of peppery alcoholic warmth, much drier at the close as well. Low in effervescence, full and lightly syrupy on the palate with a suitably big body. Unique and interesting character, not quite like anything else I’ve sampled to date.
